Aviators Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 beautiful!!! Great ;) L'importante non è stabilire se uno ha paura o meno, è saper convivere con la propria paura e non farsi condizionare dalla stessa. Ecco, il coraggio è questo, altrimenti non è più coraggio ma incoscienza.
Johnny Dioxin Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Fantastic service and an excellent product! I'm using the 120mm extension. The hardest bit was deciding which length to go for - so I made 3 plastic imitations from map holders and had a go with each one first. As mainly a whirley jockey the choice was obvious in the end. Very quick delivery and I was so happy with it, I've put links to his website on mine (and I don't have any 'adverts' or the like normally). They also sell out very fast (despite not being a sticky... ahem) - so get in quick! Thanks! Paradaz Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Anyone else have a problem removing their extension from the base. I hand tightened mine when I first got it. Now I can't remove it. I am afraid if I put too much force on it I will break the gimble in the base. Yep, the extensions provide extra leverage and if they're too tight there is a real danger of some damage that is expensive to put right. It's not so much the gimble, but the internal wires and hall sensor/magnet which will go first....there are a couple of us on the SimHQ forums that had the exact same problem. Because the locking mechanism doesn't have a direct connection when an extension is in use, attempting to unscrew a stick extension means that the gimble only needs to twist 90 degrees (and it will) inside the base before the wires and sensor get ripped out. I got a quote for £150 to replace the base section by Thrustmaster because they wouldn't supply the gimble/sensor separately, however I believe some other people have had some joy in getting individual spares for their sticks since. I ended up getting a spare Warthog base shipped from Canada to the UK just to fix my issue. Only other recommendation I can give is to ensure that stick extensions aren't overtightened in the first place. :(
cichlidfan Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Actually, if the base of the extension duplicates the base of the stick (internals, not just threads) then the problem does not occur. Paradaz Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 (edited) But do any of the extensions feature the locking pattern at the bottom? I have had 3 different extensions (all great by the way) but all of them only have threads top and bottom......so this is where the problem occurs if overtightened. cichlidfan Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 But do any of the extensions feature the locking pattern at the bottom? Yes, but I won't post an ad for a competitor's product in Wasy's thread. It has it's own thread. Paradaz Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Yes, understood. These extensions greatly benefit the fine control......moral of the story anyway is just be careful and try not to over-tighten. That gimble ideally would have been of something a little better/stronger - compared to all the other quality components in the WH and based on how fundamental it is for control it was a strange design decision to go with such a rough plastic.
Lucky Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) I don't believe I over tightened mine. I have a RealSimulator FSSB r3 warthog coming tomorrow, then I'm going to do what wasy100 suggested and take the base apart. That way I'll be able to get a better grip on the socket. chev255 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Hello Wasyl, your website mentions restocking was expected on 23rd October, do you have any in stock now? Cheers!
wasyl00 Posted October 27, 2015 Author Posted October 27, 2015 Hello Wasyl, your website mentions restocking was expected on 23rd October, do you have any in stock now? Cheers! Hi chev255, Yes. NeilWillis Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Is there any possibility of producing a longer one - 300 mm would be a pretty useful length - particularly for home cockpit builders?

chev255 Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Just ordered 100mm extension - can't wait to try it!
chev255 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Received the extension very quickly, it was an easy fit (just need to be careful when tightening it or removing it as torque through the ball can damage stuff) and the Warthog feels so much better now! Thanks a lot.
JNelson Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I got one of these last Friday, great service fast delivery and the product is great quality definitely a must if you have a warthog. Community A-4E-C

Ragtop Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Wasy, how much of a difference would you say I'd feel from changing up from a 100 to a 120? As I said in my brief review, my only regret was not getting a bigger one! After flying for a few months with it I'm feeling like I'd like the 120 even more now. Just wondering how worthwhile it'd be for me to drop another £40! 476th vFG Alumni

I would not call a swap from 100 to 120mm a massive difference yet it further lessens the centering force and gives a stick a bit more throw. Well.. it will feel different. I'm sure I can help you Ragtop. Bast Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Just received my 100mm extension and I have to say I am very pleased with this product. The quality is superb and allows for the flexibility of different twist angles for center mounting. The warthog just cant reach its performance potential without the increased travel mods like this one provide, and at this level of quality and customer service. Dealing with wasy100 has be especially great as he has been quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had. Pick one up when they are available and you want be disappointed!
Ragtop Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 For those interested - I decided to make the switch from 100 to 120, and I'm extremely satisfied. The change isn't huge, but I truly feel a level of immersion like I've never felt before. The sheer accuracy over control you get is amazing. Flying formation is far easier! Thanks again Wasyl00 - Great product, great guy! 476th vFG Alumni
jwheare Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I bought a 100mm extension. It's excellent and vastly improves the flying experience in both helicopters and planes. wasyl00's emails were extremely professional and prompt throughout, and his helpful advice regarding mounting solutions prompted me to build my own floor standing system out of plywood and soil pipes. Get one, even if you need to mod your setup to fit it in!
Maulkin Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 I have been using mine since Sept 2015 (80cm) and I think it is the second most valuable thing in my simpit as far as adding to immersion and satisfaction when flying (the TrackIR being the first). If you have a TM Warthog I would HIGHLY recommend it. --Maulkin Windows 10 64-bit - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X @ 3.7 GHz - 32 GB DDR4 3600MHz RAM - EVGA FTW3 RTX 3080 - Asus Crosshair VIII Hero motherboard - Samsung EVO Pro 1 TB SSD - TrackIR 4 Pro - Thrustmaster Warthog - Saitek rudder pedals - Lilliput UM-80/C with TM Cougars
wasyl00 Posted May 28, 2016 Author Posted May 28, 2016 Are 120mm extensions still available? The project is not dead. It was only in minor hibernation :-) I expect some more extensions to be available later this summer. Cheers!
