FraserNZL Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Hey guys been looking at these forums for a while now and just wondering if there will ever be a possible FC4 game or any more aircraft coming into FC3??? Also noticed a bit of work being done to the SU-24. Anyway this is my first post so HI!! and sorry if this is in the wrong section (noob lvl9000)
Kuky Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Doubt that there will be FC4 and I think ED have said FC3 will be the last of the "series"... DCS is from now on about individual aircraft modules, even aircraft that are part of FC3 are/will be sold as individual modules. Sceptre Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Good to see a fellow kiwi, welcome to the forums! No FC4 isn't planned as FC3 was recently released. However ED is making constant upgrades to the aircraft of Flaming Cliffs 3 such as the Su-27 Advanced Flight Model that has been announced, and the future development of a MiG-29 6DoF cockpit. If you like jets and want more of them, take a look at some of the 3rd party planes being created as well. I could list them all but it's best if you take a look :) RTX 2070 8GB | 32GB DDR4 2666 RAM | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 4.2Ghz | Asrock X570 | CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle | TM MFDs | TrackIR 5
Boris Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Hi Fraser, welcome to the community! As far as a Flaming Cliffs 4 goes, I very much doubt it. The current strategy is that FC3 planes are being upgraded and gradually released as separate modules. A-10A, Su-25 and F-15 are already out. I expect that this means it will be completely discontinued once all planes are done. This is only speculation of course. Who knows what will happen in the far future... But don't expect an FC4 any time soon. The Su-24 work is probably just part of the ongoing upgrade of older models to much nicer higher polygon ones. It's certainly not said to be flyable. People get VERY excited around here when news of a new flyable comes along. FraserNZL Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 wow ok thanks guys for the quick replies and yea i have seen alot of AMAZING work from 3rd party devs which I look forward to. I will continue spending hours geeting lost in these forums looking for any and all updates lol
Boris Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 There is a lot to be excited about however. It feels like we're heading towards a critical mass towards the end of the year. The Hawk and the Mig-21 are on the cusp of being released and the new Nevada map should finally come out this year, along with the new rendering engine. Also, DCS: WW2 is well underway with a number of flyables planned. FraserNZL Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 yea that does look good aye and I thinks ill go for the mig-21 first then get drunk annoy the mrs then get the hawk lol.
Witchking Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 It makes me wonder about the Su33 and Mig 29 though. If ED plans on upgrading these, these were never announced as "free upgrades" to FC3 owners....which I totally understand... so will they release these two aircraft as separate modules? what happens to those who have fc3 and not the upgraded AFM modules? will they be listed as two separate entries? how will online multuplayer differentiate them? Sceptre Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I would guess the Su-27 AFM will be implemented the same was the F-15C was; FC3 owners get the upgrade for free but the plane is released as a standalone module for anyone that doesn't want to buy FC3. To my knowlaedge any FC aircraft upgraded will be free to FC3 owners... Unless I missed the post by Wags. SkateZilla Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 I doubt there will be a "FC4". I think Flaming Cliffs is now a Module Series, ie: DCS Flaming Cliffs SU-25 DCS Flaming Cliffs A-10A DCS Flaming Cliffs F-15C Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs

That was it. No mention anywhere of the Su33 or Mig 29. Irregular programming Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Does ED even own the FC trademark? Wasn't the whole point of DCS was to create something of their own which wasn't gouverned by Ubisoft?
Witchking Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 outside of the new MIG-29 External Model, I havent seen or heard anything regarding SU-33/MIG-29s not being free to FC3 owners. We haven't heard anything about them being free either. Remember the mess ED got into when they announced AFM at a cost for FC3 owners and then, to appease the masses who spent 40$ on FC3, they announced that AFM for F-15 and flanker is free. But at no time did they mention updates to mig 29 or Su33 in their features list for final version of FC3. But anyways...I guess we'll just have to wait and see. :) WHISPR | Intel I7 5930K | Nvidia GTX980 4GB GDDR5 | 16GB DDR4 | Intel 730 series 512GB SSD | Thrustmaster WARTHOG | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR4 pro | |A-10C|BS2 |CA|P-51 MUSTANG|UH-1H HUEY|MI-8 MTV2 |FC3|F5E|M2000C|AJS-37|FW190|BF 109K|Mig21|A-10:SSC,EWC|L-39|NEVADA|

I haven't seen anything saying that AFMs for MIG-29s/SU-33s are even in progress. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the mid to long term plan is to slowly replace every Part of FC3 with Individual Modules, Each Containing new 3D External and Cockpits and AFM, Just to remove any old "FC2" Assets Completely. SU-27 is most likely next in the Flaming Cliffs Series as the AFM has been WIP, We'll likely have Updates to the MIG-29 3D Assets eventually in DCSW Updates. After that There's no mention of Which Aircraft is going receive an AFM. MIG-29s, SU-33 etc. One would assume after the SU-27 FC Module that MIG-29s and SU-33s would follow. HiJack Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 They were in discusions in what to do. Yes, we would have added money accordingly :)
