First example is from "Green Hearts First to fly with the eagles"

RLM 84 (AKA Green Blue) Under Surface (I highly doubt that it is this colour)

RLM 82/83 Upper Surface

Second "The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 Dora Volume 1" (I think this one is more realistic)

RLM 67 Under Surface

RLM 82/83 Fuselage

RLM 75/83 or 74 Wings

So no brown but grey or green... sorry... :music_whistling:

P.S. Good Work on the Alder Flugel, just the top half needs to angle down just after it passes the wing root... :)

S! I'll go with the green / dark green version than.

"Underwing natural metal" <- seems a bit strange to me. Should it rly be bare metal (or did I get it wrong)?

Thx for your help, hope to get some new WIP pics ready soon :smilewink:

In order to save paint, some late-war planes were left partially without paint on the bottom, just showing the bare aluminum.

Not the best pic, but you can still see how they were.

Many a/c did not have the underside painted.

Progress kept a little stuck unfortunately as I had several issues with the recent DCS Update and also gimp, which frequently crashed. I ended up recovering and redoing more stuff than actually progressing, which is a true pain.

Anyway, here's the little update. Notice that I tested it with grey-green underside and fuselage painting instead of the lightblue (as seen in first skin source) which looks quite nice to me. I might even consider making both.

The underside is made as close as I could get it to the description. I'm not totally happy with it yet though so expect some changes.

Quick update on progress. Here's th that has been bugging me for long after flying my Dora for the first time. The spinner with it's typical spiral painting changed to ackward lines once the prop has started rotating.

Of ocurse this had to be changed and I plan to share my custom prop texture with other modders to pit them to their own Doras.

Pls note that the credit for basis texture belongs to Maler (pls answer me if you don't want me to share it).

Guys, I say again that I have just modified some things on the template. Rivets and others.))) Author of template Super Vasya (ED Team)

And by the way the sample with a rotating spinner has the texture of Hans Dorterman.

All right than, thx for the headsup. I just recently got across this template and skinning in DCS so I payed a little more attention at giving credits.:smilewink:

I'll upload the template file for my reworked spinner than and leave a link to future Dora skinners.

hehe :)

Since I´m new to this whole skinning stuff I was playing around and testing a few things today.

Can anyone help with the .lua settings regarding the numbers?

If I don´t want the numbers taken from a template but instead just the whole texture - what exactly do I need to change?

I guess it´s this line:

{"FW-190_NUMBER_GB", 0 ,"empty",true};
But if I set it to false I get missing textures:
