Mowgli Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) nope..the mod contains both P-51D and TF-51. The Textures are quite the same, but the TF has no gunsight got it - thanks mate nice work on this mod Edited September 3, 2014 by Mowgli [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel i5 4690K | ASUS Z-97PRO Gaming Mobo | Nvidia Gigabyte GTX970 3.5/0.5 GB Windforce3 | G.Skill Ripjaws-X 2x8GB DDR3 1600Mhz | Samsung Evo 120GB SSD | Win10 Pro | Antec 750w 80 Bronze Modular
T. Jacob Posted September 3, 2014 Author Posted September 3, 2014 Hi T Jacob, thanks very much..so I just did a quick test with the Shark..the effect is not that strong, but I feels right:thumbup: Thanks for the test Lizzar. I made some adjustments and add new reflection. You can try with this file? simply replaces the dds file with the new. Tell me if you see better.:) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7nlaS6_76Y9Q0tTV0ZINHB6ZGc/edit?usp=sharing
T. Jacob Posted September 3, 2014 Author Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) Rain drop A small test, just for fun. Leveraging the glass without much deformation of the Su-25T /A, because in other planes would not be possible to have cockpits like bubbles, you know, with a lot of curvature in the glass. It is very difficult to achieve this effect with a flat texture on a curved surface. :( Although it is not bad, is not realistic, you know, the drops should move all the time, but we can imagine that this would be wonderful effect on DCS. k33.kn3.net/4/0/5/9/4/C/DF0.jpg k30.kn3.net/A/2/C/3/D/C/D77.jpg k31.kn3.net/F/E/C/1/E/B/BD6.jpg Edited April 7, 2015 by T. Sabre-TLA Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) What you really want is this. Would be great if the engine could switch this cockpit glass texture when cloudy / rainy weather. Edited September 4, 2014 by Sabre-TLA MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
Devrim Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 It won't enough to switch the glass texture. It should animate it. I hope DCS v2.0 will have this feature, but I doubt that. Buckeye Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Very nice mod, thanks for our work! Curious what causes the tint effect on the outside world (ie it is much darker)? Buckeye Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 If you refer to my screenshots don`t get confused..this are just my SweetFX Settings..i like it pretty meaty and dark:) Nope, I was referring to version 1 of this mod that I have been using the past few days. I will have to try his updated version tonight. It's quite noticeably darker when I am rearming/refueling, outside is nice and bright with the canopy open but looking out the windscreen or closing the canopy is much more tinted/darker. gear_monkey Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) Great work...this is getting close to what I have been wanting to do to make the A10c's canopy glass more immersive. I flew with you mod for a few minutes and love the idea but the two reflections I have circled were really visually distracting and was wondering if they could be toned down? Thanks again for the great work. Edited September 6, 2014 by gear_monkey Win 10 64bit; 32 GB DDR4 3200 Ram; ASUS MoBo; 1TB SSD;Intel i7 8700K; GTX 1080ti 11GB; Thrustmaster Warthog;Odyssey + VR
T. Jacob Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 What about the MiG-29? No love? Sorry for the delay in replying. The Mig-29, does not have 3D 6DOF cockpit. Does not have its own files for the cockpit, I guess I'll have to wait to finish it. I will make a test and see if I can include it in the mod.
T. Jacob Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 Very nice mod, thanks for our work! Curious what causes the tint effect on the outside world (ie it is much darker)? Is this similar to the effect real canopies have in jets? Well, yeah. By increasing reflection in the F-15, Tf-51D and P-51D, the glass becomes a little darker, I tried to minimize this effect but is still there. Not perfect because reflection depends on a texture file applied to glass, it is not a true reflection. As I said before, not all texture files for reflection, work the same. I can not get the same result in all airplanes :(

Thanks again for the great work. I think it has a solution, let me make new tests. I also try to improve on the Su-25T and Su-25A. The files I uploaded are not finished yet, but they serve to make suggestions :)

T. Jacob Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Will this impact the FPS? Not at all. There is no impact because it does not add any texture, just amending the existing for reflection. :)
T. Jacob Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 possible to do the fw190 if u don't have the module I can send the file here. Of course, send the files. I will also include new reflection for the Mig-21 Bis
RetroBurn Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Won't this be a disadvantage in MP? Win 7 HE / GigaByte Z68AP-D3 / i5-2500K 3.30 GHz / 16Gb RAM / GTX 570 2.5GB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
T. Jacob Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 Won't this be a disadvantage in MP? I think not. The reflection is not always seen, much depends on what you have behind the glass, but adds a bit of immersion, especially if you use Track-ir. For me, it has not been a distración. If you watch videos of real fighters, you see the reflection, according as the sun illuminates the cockpit, at certain times reflection is very strong and can be a problem for a real pilot, but DCS, the effect of the mod is not as strong. Well, I think so. If you are using JSGME you can activate it during the flight and see the difference, even if you fly in multiplayer, you can disable it without leaving the game. :)
Abburo Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I am using this mod and did not create ever any discomfort nor made me lost the focus. By contrary, it creates immersion. With this mod and Isegrim's SU-25s new engine sounds, that plane became a real pleasure to fly for example. T. Jacob Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) heres the fw190 cockpit default glass diveplane, I have a problem. The file has no reference to what it reflects, as if it did not reflect anything, and by the position of the glass might reflect only the pilot. The side windows are very vertical, I do not think that reflects some of the side panels of instruments. It is complicated. In any case, I need a screenshot of instruments panels, viewed from the side glass and top. :( I need a screenshot from the top, sides, and front (showing the area of the sight) if possible, take screenshots from inside the cabin (Top and sides) of the side should show, part panel instruments and the glass opposite. k31.kn3.net/4/4/8/C/8/8/493.jpg Edited March 4, 2015 by T.
