ebabil Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 hi guys, i have just purchased fc-3 and i have 2 questions: 1-i couldn't get my pedals worked as toe brakes. i didin't see an option to set this 2-while taking off with su-25, if i use my pedals even very slightly, my plane gets upside down or totally out of control FC3 | UH-1 | Mi-8 | A-10C II | F/A-18 | Ka-50 III | F-14 | F-16 | AH-64 | Mi-24 | F-5 | F-15E| F-4| Tornado Persian Gulf | Nevada | Syria | NS-430 | Supercarrier // Wishlist: CH-53 | UH-60 Youtube MS FFB2 - TM Warthog - CH Pro Pedals - Trackir 5
joey45 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 1- The sukhois don't have toe brakes. IRL 2 - try setting a curve. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. enigma6584 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 As joey45 said. The Su-25 does not have toe breaks. If you look at the control stick you will see a lever at the bottom of the handle. That is actually the break control.
lxsapper Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Use even slighter movement! No more tham 1-2mm on my saitek's during the take off run.
ebabil Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 i have ch pedals and it is very hard to apply 1-2mm movements because it's very stiff FC3 | UH-1 | Mi-8 | A-10C II | F/A-18 | Ka-50 III | F-14 | F-16 | AH-64 | Mi-24 | F-5 | F-15E| F-4| Tornado Persian Gulf | Nevada | Syria | NS-430 | Supercarrier // Wishlist: CH-53 | UH-60 Youtube MS FFB2 - TM Warthog - CH Pro Pedals - Trackir 5
lxsapper Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Saitek's Combats aren't all that great. Not very smooth (lot's of sticktion), jitery, etc. But hey do have adjustable tention and as I understand it bigger travel range, wich also helps to keep control. Even I'm usually agains't curves because I think they bring more harm than good. You may want to take joey's sujestion and try to see how they work for you. Also keep in mind that you should really keep your yaw input to a minimum during takeoff with Flamming Cliffs level aircraft. In DCS level aircraft (and real aircraft) you disengage nose wheel steering above 50-70kts. In FC aircraft you cannot they will both work toguether all of the time. As you have discovered that can lead to "problems".... Other than that practice and try to gain a feel for it.
theGozr Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 And it's better that way :) Fly it like you stole it..
ZQuickSilverZ Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Just program a ZONE in your pedals for toe brakes. Set the last 50 percent of your travel as "activate breaks" (as in the last 50 activates a key press for brakes). The reason your aircraft is probably going out of control is because you did not set the axis controls properly. You may have them but they are probably on multiple controllers or shared by the same controller in 2 different areas. I need, I need, I need... What about my wants? QuickSilver original. mjolner Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Recommend using RCNTRL + ENTER to bring up the axis display, this will help you evaluate if you have an axis mapping conflict and it is just a very usefull feature to help visualize what your control surfaces and your controller(s) are doing. In regards to the Frog, during take off be very light on the nose wheel, particularly with a heavy loadout she can be a bear if you over correct. I do agree with others that if its gettin too squirley, sounds like it might a be control conflict.
