Will I lose campaign progress with the patch?

I'm in the middle of my P-51 campaign. I'm just wondering if my progress will be lost when I download the new patch. I think it's happened to me before.

afaik the Campaign progress is stored in the logbook (saved games)...so an update should not wreck anything?!

Kontiuka, I can tell you that P-51 campaign was getting stuck on the last but one mission anyway, in the previous version of the game, that is. I had to play the last one separately. Apparently that happens every now and then with P-51 campaign after installing game updates. People get stuck somewhere in the middle and the campaign doesn't want to proceed. I don't know if recent update will fix (or mess up) anything in this matter, but expect having to load some of the missions "manually" anyway.

My campaign progress is gone. I was near the end of Georgian oil war for BS2 and it took me 80+ flights to get there. Please tell me there's a way to recover this. What file is the logbook stored in?

 

Edit:

I found the file intact at <user>\Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor\logbook.lua

Now trying to find out why the latest DCS version doesn't read this.

If your logbook.lua doesn't have your already completed missions listed in it or you don't have a backup of that file I don't know what to do, but if you do happen to have a backup (presumably you all make regular backups of your C partitions?) you should be able to fix this.

I haven't updated yet but these seem to be the current issues with the new patch:

 

Campaign progess disappearing

Custom campaigns disappearing

Campaigns start with wrong aircraft

Mods not working

SU-25T training video errors

Module manager bugs

Dora/Sabre disappearing

Multiplayer bugs

Update doesn't work

Oculus bugs

 

So avoid updating and wait for another update.

Ok, I recovered my progress by taking aeliusg's advice in the link Raven Morpheus posted. Edit the file <user>\Saved Games\DCS\MissionEditor\logbook.lua, find and replace "aircrafts" with "aircraft".

 

All this trouble caused by the developers trying to polish their English. In my professional opinion, "aircrafts" is a fine word to use when talking about multiple types of aircraft. It's like "fishes".
