Cowboy10uk Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Hi guys, first of thanks for the Mig 21, I absolutly love this aircraft, however I do have one slight issue, in that I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the weapons up, working and launching? I turn on all the weapon switches and pylons on right hand side, click the red switch to armed on centre console, switch the rotary switch to the correct pylon, but after that, I'll be damned if anything happens. I know, it's something I'm doing wrong, I just have no idea what it is. Could anyone please be so kind as to talk me through weapon deployment. I've watched videos, and read the manual over and over, and it's just not going in. Sorry, I know this should be straight forward, but hey I'm an idiot. ;) Bro wants to dogfight using the F86 later tonight, and I'm pretty sure if I can't get the weapons working, I may be at a slight disadvantage. ;) Cowboy10uk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Fighter pilots make movies, Attack pilots make history, Helicopter pilots make heros. :pilotfly: Corsair 570x Crystal Case, Intel 8700K O/clocked to 4.8ghz, 32GB Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 3200 MHZ Ram, 2 x 1TB M2 drives, 2 x 4TB Hard Drives, Nvidia EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW, Maximus x Hero MB, H150i Cooler, 6 x Corsair LL120 RGB Fans And a bloody awful Pilot
WinterH Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 First thing comes to mind, did you assign something to "Release Weapon" in controls? Don't know if that's fixed in current version, but I recall during the first release nothing was assigned to it by default :). Also, (while I'm sure you know it) make sure you keep wpn release held for a second for air to air missiles. Koekemoeroetoe Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Did you go through the tutorial missions? And what WinterH says, did you assign the 'release weapons' command to a button, and do you keep it pressed?? WinterH Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Oh! And one more thing : make sure master mode switch to the uppter left side of cockpit is set to air to air position (UP) AND the switch next to it the missile mode one, is set to appropriate setting for missile you want to fire (UP for IR missiles and DOWN for Radar missiles). [...] Cowboy10uk The red switch is only for arming bombs, nothing else and you can still drop bombs without arming, they just won't detonate. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Jerkzilla Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Also press one of the three gun arming buttons on the left side of the upper dash, next to missile type and AA/AG switch to load the gun. Hotkeys are Left Alt + 1, L alt + 2 and L alt + 3, it's ready to fire after this, just make sure you have the trigger bound to something. You shouldn't need much more than this for an F-86.

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. Thanks for all the advice guys, this one above though from Jerkzilla, managed to solve the problem. I was forgetting the arming button. Doohhhhh. Thankfully weapons are now up and firing, which is rather lucky, as I was getting my ass kicked dogfighting without them. ;) Thanks everyone for taking the time to answer me.
