What settings in my graphic card will help clouds have smooth transition?

When I'm flying above 20000ft the puffy clouds seem to just appear out of no where.

Also I'm getting a little texture tearing on my canopy frame.

Geforce gtx 750ti

Thank you

Its a common issue. Clouds simply do the jerk-movement, its the graphics engine of the game. :(

It's simple... Find the DCS2.0 button on your graphics card, amd press it once. It should cure your problem... hppefully.

Can you please be more specific. Where exactly is the DCS2.0 button on my graphics card?

He was just kidding. DCS 2.0 is the long awaited EDGE graphic engine.

Thanks Stig1207...:) and thanks to rajdary.

As for the jerky cloud rendering what your saying is there is nothing I can do about it at my end.

Also as for the texture tearing on my canopy frame, I turned on vertical sync to eliminate the tearing, it worked but I took a 10-15 fps hit even with triple buffering enabled. Any thoughts on how to get rid of it without using vertical sync?

Thanks.

Mac Did a very thorough test, the deepest test I have seen so far for DCS. a must read for anyone looking to increase Fraps and just cleaning up DCS to run at its best.

Set your Maximum Pre-rendered Frames in your nVidia CP to 2 (triple buffer)

i've set a similar parameter 'Flip Queue Size' with my AMD 7850 to 2 with good results - be aware that this won't magically make FPS higher, it will just smooth things out.

Are you saying to turn on triple buffering? I did this when I turned on Vertical Sync but to no benefit. Both V sync and trip buffering do not affect DCS. Only the game options 'enable v sync' affects the game.

I don't see 'Flip Queue Size' as an option anywhere.

The triple buffer option presented in your control panel is for OpenGL only (confusing i know!) since DCS World uses Direct3D we have to enable triple buffer through the Maximum Pre-rendered Frames/Flip Queue Size setting.

Flip Queue Size is for AMD cards, what you need to look for is the 'Maximum Pre-rendered Frames' with your nVidia Geforce gtx 750ti card.

It has been a long long time since i've used an nVidia card so i'm not sure where it would be located in your control panel.

edit: i snagged this image from Google, it must look something like this - set it to 2 (default is 3)

In black shark 1 times we didn't have to enable anything to get exactly what tripple buffering offers.

Thank you I will try it out with Vertical sync on and see if it helps.

Mustang, I notice that some of the settings in the 'manage 3D settings' refer to 3D and other settings refer to Open GL. So does this mean that any and all of the Open GL settings will not be supported by DCS?
