RAZBAM_ELMO Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 So you guys aren't going to run anything but air-quake is what you're saying? Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass. — Dave 'Preacher' Pace, USN.
SNAFU Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Thats the scourge of puplic online air combat sims for spare time PC gamers. Be it Aces High, Red Baron, Il2, CloD, BoS, FC1 to 3 or DCS. You either have more or less populated server with quick action available - leading to air quake. Or you have an empty server, going for realistic settings and missions. Your choice. ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Unsere Facebook-Seite
9.JG27 DavidRed Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 ^^exactly this...with our former missions, which were much more complicated to produce, and trying to resemble much more realistic environment resembling more a ww2 scenario within our possibilties we noticed that while we enjoyed the mission very much, the majority obviously didnt really appreciate the fact to fly for a couple of minutes towards the target area...or care to even climb to a certain altitude to escort bombers and such...usually we faced a nice mission but empty server... my hope is, that once we have a ww2 map, that more players will appreciate realistic scenarios.but for now, flying over a little immersive map with modern stuff everywhere which puts you out of your little film all the times, we decided its not worth it... we still have those former missions on the server and we can maybe think about a certain day to run those more "real" missions, but in general, the current mission is just much more successfull it seems...hopefully that is only the current result of the lack of a proper ww2 scenario.

9.JG27 DavidRed Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 also, what people have to understand...currently the mission building process is a one man show.(well with the help of kind people who provided me some scripts just like SNAFU, or guys who help me with the mission briefings, thx to Bounder and IronJockel) not only does it take lots and lots of time to build even the current "AIRQUAKE" mission, but people have a life outside of dcs as well.furthermore, i am by no means a really experienced mission builder at all.i work with what i understand, and that is pretty much triggers, avoiding scripts as long as possible...its time consuming. so of course, i can understand that our missions will never ever appeal to everybody.its not possible.but if people have legitimate concerns about our missions, i welcome everybody to create a mission he likes, and we can test it on the server.if its successfull we will implement it in a mission rotation.if anybody is interested in doing so, then please pm me.

If people would be intrested to participate in an event where Axis attack bombers and Allied defend them it surly would work. Point is we need enough players. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
9.JG27 DavidRed Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 btw, tacview should be working now.anybody who plans to use it on our server, please test it and report back.thx
TaxmanTom Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Well David, then let me just state that I loved the bomber mission you previously had on the server! :) But I totally understand that people got lost/confused. The current mods should definitely help that situation. How tricky would it be to alternate between a few missions if you slap a timer on them?
9.JG27 DavidRed Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 not tricky at all....thats easily done.
Sleipner Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Yessssssss! Tacview is now working. Thank you so much!
n3cr1d Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I am grateful for every WWII server out there, but I really dislike how your modpack voids the air of every flyby sound there is. Is this supposed to be realistic?
IronJockel Posted February 6, 2015 Author Posted February 6, 2015 I am grateful for every WWII server out there, but I really dislike how your modpack voids the air of every flyby sound there is. Is this supposed to be realistic? Yes. The flyby sounds made low six attacks impossible and in real life you coudn't hear other planes at all under your canopy. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Orava Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 I have horribly low FPS specially when AAA is shooting any advice? :(
IronJockel Posted February 9, 2015 Author Posted February 9, 2015 I have horribly low FPS specially when AAA is shooting any advice? :( The FPS drops are a sadly something what we alle currently have to bear. As soon as we have multicore and directX 11 surpport it should be better but who knows when it will come. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

It seems to appears only on this server. Does somebody knows why ? Thanks ! Is your prop pitch set to manual? It´s standard after a coldstart if you don´t change to auto prop pitch. If you take off and gain speed your RPM´s go up over 3k and the engine crashes. So either watch and manage your prop pitch / RPM´s or set to auto - this should do it. >> DCS liveries by golani79 <<
Lilkiki Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I always forgot the prop pitch  thanks for the tip mate ! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
golani79 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 You are welcome! .. still happens to me from to time. And when it does I immediately know what went wrong :D >> DCS liveries by golani79 <<
9.JG27 DavidRed Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 (edited) attention:pilots who use the ACG server as their server of choice ok...lets make it personal :) from now on, we offer our "regulars"(pilots who frequently visit and fly on our server) a personal plane, reserved only for them. if you think you fit into the above category, apply here, with with following details: complete online name(has to be correct to work with your plane) plane of choice(chose your favorite, we can only reserve 1 for you) paintscheme of choice(does not have to be a stock skin shipped with the sim, but can also be community made, or even made by yourself. desired plane number if we agree that you fit into the category of our "regulars", then you will soon see your wish fullfilled.note though, that even such adjustments take a little time, and it may take a while until you really see your personal plane showing up on the server. *due to the limitations of slots though, we will have to place the reserved planes on the outer airfields.still pretty close, but a short flight will be required to get into action...well probably with every few new reserved planes added to the mission(s), we will also update our ACG modpack, inlcuding the paintschemes....it will not be required to have that most recent modpack installed to fly on our server, but it is recommended, to enjoy the full experience... NOW GO ON AND APPLY! Edited February 13, 2015 by 9./JG27 DavidRed
