Got this pc as an upgrade for ArmA2 so thats how old lol. Upgraded to I5 this yr an planned to do disk part later.edit.

For general gaming, or other basic computer use, there are virtually no benefits unless two small ones are cheaper than one bigger one. Even then, you have doubled the risk of drive failure and not gained enough to offset it.

Hmmm, no - not necessarily... one disc for the Operating System and another for the sim (or any other program) has the discs working parallel to each other. So while the Op Sys is doing its thing, the other disc is doing its thing at the same time... When having both on the same disc, this means, one has to wait for the other.

There has always been a marked improvement set by running two discs... a third empty disc is also a boost, as Windows will use that disc as the Page File, if left at its Default Page File Setting

If you get a 256G SSD to put your OS, programs and games on, you should have plenty of disc space. Buy a new 1TB hard drive, less than $100, and you'll have plenty of storage space and a place for backing up your SSD. SSD + 1TB storage, less than $200.

I have ordered a Samsung Evo, but I hear they come with a problem. So will I have to update the firmware once the drive arrives or will it have the latest fix already? If I do need to download this fix does anyone know where it is exactly because I can't find it on the Samsung site.

Funny how there's Always someone to dig up an old post. I wish someone would clean up this forum. And split the 'new posts' into language... I have no use for posts in russian for example...
