jfri Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 I have tries the last quick start mission for the free TF 51D. Every time my plane becomes a wreckage after touch down because it starts turning and I cant keep control. I now have the impression that the free TF 51D is more difficult to land than the pay ware P51D. Could it be so or is it something I must be imagining ?
ricktoberfest Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Do you have rudder pedals with toe brakes? If so make sure they're not accidentally on. Also, as soon as your weight is on the wheels keep the stick back slightly to keep the tail wheel locked (when you're slow enough that you're not gonna take off again)
Art-J Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Double-check all your controller and special options settings for TF-51, because they're set separately from "full" P-51 and maybe they got fudged in Your DCS install after one of last patches. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

I also use them in FSX P3D
BFBunny Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Nope, they are pretty much the same. If you can land the P-51 with guns, you can land the free civil version the exactly the same. Be sure to check the manual for landing tips and speeds if you don't think it's a controller issue. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/documentation/ Hope you work the problem as the p51 is the easiest propeller plane to land once you get the hang of it. I killed many virtual pilots in the tf51 when I was learning.
SFC Tako Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) Watch this ;) EDIT: Hey BTW, you need to keep the stick back to have control over the tailwheel! If you don't do that, the tailwheel won't be under your control...it will turn any way the aircraft wants to. EDIT2: Yeah...ricktoberfest already mentioned that. 98abaile Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Check your toe break configuration. I think the breaks are inverted by default.
WildBillKelsoe Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Do you nose over? Wreckage seems floating the question for NTSB to investigate (yours truly, no not really) AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. jfri Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 Do you nose over? Wreckage seems floating the question for NTSB to investigate (yours truly, no not really) Maybe a little. But I mostly have the impression that the planes goes sideways at least initially.

WildBillKelsoe Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 you should advance throttle from 0-100 (no WEP) in 3 seconds. This means 33% each second.
