zaelu Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 (edited) I tried the new ground handling in simulation mode. I don't know if it is just beta or is affected by the bug of rear wheels half sink into the ground and brakes close to ineffectiveness (could be) but currently the new ground handling is very poor. I can say that after testing the Mig-15Bis which has the same system and that plane is realy easy handle on the ground by braking and pushing pedals. What is the experience regarding this of others? zaelu Posted February 28, 2015 Author Posted February 28, 2015 Ground handling of the MiG got a little tricky now, but didn´t face any walls so far it for me it seems right. Wheels seem to sink a little, but since they are made for soft grounds... try the 15Bis on the ground. is just like is a A-10C with NWS on compare to the struggle you have to fight with 21bis now. I was one of the supporters of "full real" ground steering and I still am but I think LNS should have done it full real from the start not in steps and now combined with rear wheels bug to be close to impractical. For me the 21 is grounded anyway till a fix is out. This is how it looks to me the rear wheels. Definitely now just a little sink... and the nose wheel is almost airborne if not a bit raised. Art-J Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Take-off runs are also noticeably more bumpy. Maybe not as "offroad-bumpy" as on initial release, but more bumpy than in 1.2.14. I wonder if it's intended, or another side effect of landing gear adjustments. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
zaelu Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 (edited) Any news on when this and other problems (most of them introduced with 12.15) of Mig21 will be fixed? My 21 is still grounded... granted I have a blast with 15Bis but still... I'd like the 21 also fixed and not "forgotten" somewhere in 21 threads of "what's next?". :D edit hm... is it this? lets see... edit 2 nope... edit 3 somehow after this update my DCS World game exploded after giving me the first BSOD ever... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2341134#post2341134 Edited March 6, 2015 by zaelu [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
Random Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I still think the ground handling is too easy personally! It's strange others are struggling with it. Stupid question but you guys having trouble arent engaging the nosewheel brake to taxi are you? I much prefer the Mig15's implementation of the system. All steering on the brakes until up to reasonable speeds. And it IS a lighter plane so more responsive. I do however agree with fixing the sunken tyres...
zaelu Posted March 6, 2015 Author Posted March 6, 2015 The problem is not that is hard but that it is unstable...the plane wobbles like is very light and you end up over controlling it. It seems that it is aggravated by the wheel sink bug at least so lets wait for a fix. Sadly today's fix didn't do anything to this it appears. I still rebuild my install after the BSOD... I'll check again after. Cobra847 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 In the real thing, ground steering becomes slightly noticeable using the rudder at around 30kph. At 50 and beyond it starts rapidly getting better. The sunken tires issue was our fault in accidentally shipping the wrong entry.lua. @Zaelu; the updater log is referring to the fact that the sim needs to be repaired after updating the sim. The issue was not with our activation, it was with the updater. Nicholas Dackard Founder & Lead Artist Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/
