Memory arrived as well today, so board and cpu in, cooler mounted, ram in, ssd in. That's enough for today will start again tomorrow with connections and cable management.

My poor old machine in the coolmaster case is feeling abandoned now, but my children have already asked to have her

More advice opinions needed.

So the H100i can control the radiator fans, or I could plug the radiator fans into the 600t fan controller.

Nice built BIGNEWY

About the fans, IF you have air filters on fans, it is better to have more air blown IN then sucked out (by the fans), and reason is minimal dust in case ;)

By having more fans blowing in, you create higher air pressure inside the case, not allowing any dust to be sucked into the case through MANY little holes and gaps that exist in all cases.

I have this setup on my PC and in many years I used it I have never had to cleat the case or componenets from dust. I recomend this to anyone.

The air filters I use are super fine mesh ones and any dust build up is on the filters which are easily cleaned.

just set the H100i to the onboard header (don't use the software) at set it in BIOS TO manual, or the case fan controller (making sure the rpm wire is to the onboard header, to register in case of pump failure), with either, set to 60 ~ 70% and leave it fixed... it will work well and NOT cause hearing damage ;)

BigNewy,

Corsair's forum is full of complaints about the LINK Software, have lowered expectations !

Some guys are waiting for more than 2 years to get their i-Series stuff working and it dont :(

I have to say, it would be VERY NICE if my AXi-1200 could measure all currents and amps AS ADVERTISED.

Some guys in the forum at Corsair think about one of those CALS ( class action law lalalalala ).

Corsair makes good stuff for the money but the LINK Software has been a disaster ever since.

Do not try to get things working in Link if it just wont and if you need that USB header for something else, do it ! It's not worth it unless they fix their damn shit !!!

LINK sux !

Thanks for the reply guys, I am going to use just the usb on the h100i ( just so I can set the colour of the led lol ) and plug the case fans into the fan controller.

How did the build go, BIGNEWY?

I copied your list and am looking at a new system, too. I will take the advice from above and look hard at an i5, but the main focus for this new build will be the monitor (4K...) and video card.

That ASUS Z97-AR motherboard has a slot for an M.2 SSD. Anybody know if an M.2 device can be used to boot from?

Ahh -- this is in the questions section for the MB --
