EasyEB Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) This mission is made to create the feeling of beeing in an area where there is actually an ongoing conflict. In this, the first part of the mission, enemy units are patrolling the roads all over Georgia and Abkhazia. There are also many different tasks that can be randomly assigned via the F10 menu, so the mission will probably never look the same. The mission was made primarily for the A-10C, but it also works very well for the KA-50. It works great for both single- and multiplayer. BRIEFING Georgia has been destabilized and enemy forces have moved into the country in high frequency but low numbers. Their forces consists mostly of infantry and armored vehicles. You are part of a US lead task force sent to protect Georgian sovereignty. For now NATO has air superiority over the Georgian and Abkhazian airspace but Russia is still a no-fly zone. Use the F10 Radio Menu to request tasking. This will randombly select one of many tasks available in this mission. See images in the briefing material when referenced from the tasks. There are also enemy units patrolling the roads, activated at random - so check in with the JTACs circling the area for target designation. If you do not like the task, ask for a new one. If you stumble upon any bugs, please let me know. Hope you enjoy it! Download here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1430099/ Edited June 16, 2015 by EasyEB 2

baltic_dragon Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 (edited) Yep! Me too! *edit: what is the number of players in MP that can fly this? Edited June 16, 2015 by baltic_dragon For more information, please visit my website. If you want to reach me with a bug report, feedback or a question, it is best to do this via my Discord channel. Details about the WinWing draw can be found here. Also, please consider following my channel on Facebook.
EasyEB Posted June 17, 2015 Author Posted June 17, 2015 baltic_dragon, Currently there are 6 A-10C, 4 KA-50, 2 UH-1 and 6 Mig-21bis. Let me know if you need more :)
Blooze Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 I flew this mission today with one other A-10 pilot and from the beginning and throughout the first tasking the frame rates were very low with jumpy interruptions compared to all the other missions I have on file. We both have more than adequate PCs and have no frame rate issues with other MP missions. Would it be possible to cut this mission in half and offer it as part 1 and 2 reducing the number of objects on the map from over 800 to 400? Also I think dynamic weather will be a frame rate killer for many although I changed that to static weather before our test run. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
EasyEB Posted June 18, 2015 Author Posted June 18, 2015 Blooze, I'm sorry to hear that. I have not heard of performance loss during the mission – has anyone else had big frame drops? I'll see if I can put togeather a light version of it for you.

This is the kind of mission that small groups of hawg pilots are in need of so keep up the good work and thanks for your contribution. Edited June 18, 2015 by Blooze [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
EasyEB Posted June 18, 2015 Author Posted June 18, 2015 As long as you don't redistribute the mission I don't mind at all.
Yurgon Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 (edited) We just flew the mission with 3 Hogs. It looks quite good, thanks for the work! However, we all had comms problems. We couldn't communicate with ATC, AWACS, JTACs... actually, no one would answer any radio calls. As it turns out, the mission (version 1.9) contains folders for each of the A-10C radio sets, and apparently all the radios are set to the preset mode instead of manual (took us a while to figure it out). After deleting these folders, the radios were back to normal when we started the mission again. (We still had radio problems, but those were not related to the Hand Of God mission). I think if you deleted these folders, it would be less hassle for players to figure out why their comms don't work. ;) Edit: Sorry for the addendum, but two more things. :) 1. Two A-10Cs suffered a single engine failure and the APU wouldn't air-start either. Does the mission enforce certain failures? 2. The mission enforces some settings like PERMIT CRASH RCVR, External views and G-EFFECTS. This might be a matter of taste, but especially concerning PERMIT CRASH RCVR and G-EFFECTS, I think it would be best to leave it to the pilots which settings they prefer. To a lesser degree, the same goes for Civ traffic, which can be quite a performance hit for some users, but I can see why it makes sense from a mission design point of view. EasyEB Posted August 24, 2015 Author Posted August 24, 2015 Hi Yurgon! I'm glad you like the mission. I've been away from DCS for a while but I just updated this file to fix a couple of bugs and started adding tasks that are a little farther away (because who doesn't like flying, right?). Concerning the radio presets: Yes, the radio presets are there because I fly this mission with my group and we use a comms system that is dependant on the presets - hence the presets. The simplest way to get out of the presets is to flip the Frequency Selection Dial from PRE to MAN. Then it uses the frequency set and shown. Checking the radios should be part of any veteran pilots check list :) Concerning the APU not air starting -- The mission does not enforce any failures. Nor are birds enabled, so I can't answer why engine failed and the APU didn't start. Were there any non regulated holes in the plane? ;) Concerning the PERMIT CRASH RCVR, External Views and G-EFFECTS, I have unchecked all but the F10 map view options (which I believe also affect some external views?) this both because of the group I fly with, but also because a lot of the tasks depend on the pilots having to look for something specific. If it would show on the map it'd take away some of the fun. Same goes for civ traffic, some tasks are to find a specific civ vehicle, now if it was the only one on the road... That said, if there is any part of this mission you do not like simply open it in the editor and change it. If you do and play online on an open server, please state that a change has been made -- for claritys sake.
jers Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Added to Hoggitworld.com if anyone wants to check out the details about the mission.

Checking the radios should be part of any veteran pilots check list :) Haha, you're right, we should have figured that out during the startup procedure. :) OTOH, I believe this creates a kind of speed-bump that might lead people to put a seemingly bugged mission aside. If you added a note to the briefing, at least there would be a hint to look out for something out of the ordinary. Concerning the APU not air starting -- The mission does not enforce any failures. Nor are birds enabled, so I can't answer why engine failed and the APU didn't start. Were there any non regulated holes in the plane? ;) Nope, as far as I remember none of the two guys had been hit, there were no unauthorized 23 mm holes installed and other than the engine failure the jets looked fine. Weird. Zarma Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 (edited) Nice mission. Sad that the JTAC arent on FM radio so that we can keep the AWAC channel on AM. When flying solo, I get each time shot down by enemy CAP. So do I need to bring someone in mig21 to protect me ???? EasyEB Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 (edited) Greetings all! The mission has now been updated to work for DCS 1.5. I've made several small and big changes to it with new tasks and fancy JTACs using lasers and IR-pointers to mark targets. There might be some bugs as I have not tested all tasks, so if you run into something weird, please let me know! Cheers! Edited February 2, 2016 by EasyEB 1
