Over 100$ for a mouse? Ouch . It better last forever.

$100 is a bit too much for me as well but what really amazes me is when someone spends over $100 and has no clue on fundamentals of mouse configuration. Thinks DPI is precision, uses mouse acceleration ("increase mouse precision" MS calls it), uses other notches of the windows mouse control panel than the 3rd, 4th and 6th (middle) etc.

A comment on DPI

thanks cich, G700s on its way to me.

was thinking to go for another deathadder, but i'm to mad at my mouse at the moment to reward razer with my money

Well, I hope it works out well for you. :)

EDIT: Regarding DPI, mid 2000s in normal for me on the desktop, and I usually adjust in game settings to suit that. Even in something where I use the DPI switches (or sniper button), it is used to lower it temporarily, never to raise it. To me, anything higher is completely useless (though all of my mice will do it).

I thing Danger Mouse is my favorite. Mickey is a close second, followed by Stuart Little.

Nope. In that vein the winner has to be Jerry. :P

I'm quite fond of Razor products, had a Copperhead with green LED's which lasted for years (5+?) until I wore it out, currently have a Deathadder 3.5, which I've had for nearly the same amount of time. Still going strong.

Haven't used any drivers barring the ones on the CD though, so if the new ones are some silly online thing then I've not experienced it.

Before that, and on other machines, I'm still quite fond of MS's Intellisense series of mice. Good, comfortable and durable.

For a long while I've enjoyed Logitech's ergonomics, starting with an MX1000 Laser, followed by a Performance Mouse MX and currently a G700 Gaming. The only really bad thing about all of these is that AFAIK there's no version for left handed people (I'm not, obviously, but if you are, no need to continue reading here - too bad, Logitech, you may just have missed out on another customer...)

With the G700, I've configured the middle mouse button to be the lower left of the 4 side-buttons so I can mildly push it with the side of the thumb, which works very well for me.

I also like the free-spinning wheel with these Logitech-mice (can be toggled between free-spinning and standard resistance by the switch of a button or the wheel itself, depending on the model).

With the G700, the battery durability is rather ppor, but the micro USB connector can just turn it into a wired mouse and it works pretty good as such, recharging while it's connected.

In theory, all those configurable buttons are probably awesome, but I'd rather have bought another Performance MX which, AFAIK, was simply discontinued.

I wouldn't recommend buying the G700 just on a hunch, it's too expensive for that, but after maybe trying it out in a store, when it fits like a glove as it does for me, I think it's worth the money and the ugly looks (at least I think all those buttons make it look rather ugly). :)

I killed my G700 a couple days ago.

Since I've had some issues with Logitech over the years (one model didn't recharge properly, another sometimes issued a double-click when I just clicked once, and the G700 had poor battery life) I decided to go for a Mad Catz R.A.T. 5. What a stupid choice. It does feel okay until I have to lift it up (like when looking around in a game) -- my ring finger just doesn't fit, there's nothing to hold on to, so I have to apply a lot of pressure in order to lift it up.

"Luckily" for me, the R.A.T. 5 issued lots and lots of double-clicks instead of single-clicks so returning it was simple. I exchanged it for a Logitech MX Master that feels really good. I guess Logitech ergonomics are more or less unbeatable. :smartass:

Like most expensive Logitech mice, the MX Master has the free-spinning scroll wheel. With this model, free-spinning vs. standard resistance is detected by the scroll speed, which seems to work pretty well, but I've basically just started using it.

So far I really like this mouse.

Update: I've been using the MX Master for a month now and I really like it. The old G700 was a slightly better fit for my hand, but I don't miss its ugly buttons. The free-spinning wheel of the MX Master works totally great, I love how Logitech improved this feature over older models. The MX Master also has a second scroll wheel for horizontal scrolling which works okay. All in all, I think getting this model was a good choice.
