If it adds the scouting abilities, and once it has its full compliment of weapons and ability to drop scout teams/jtac, it would be fine but with ONLY 4 missiles and no gun or rockets, I doubt anyone will even fly it.

The Gazelle is not gunship helo like a Ka-50, Mi-24, AH-64, etc, its an anti-tank/scout helicopter - There is a huge difference in capabilities there.

 

Though what should I expect, you are the master of trolling Blue Flag threads, after all. :notworthy: :D

 

Hey, don't cry over this - you have 80's Mirage 2000 with BVR missiles, where we have 70's Mig-21 with discutable weapons. ;-)

Red, you guys realize that there's a thing called MiG-29S, right? That is the true counterpart to Mirage and honestly, its far superior in game.

 

So what is the mig deal here? :doh:

Anyway, I want the MLG-421 (MiG-21), Mirage, Gazelle, and Ka-50 on both teams!! They're good for gameplay and can represent many many different platforms.

 

@BS guys, any chance of a passworded server with the password easily available on TS?

There is literally no historical or technical, or even geopolitical reason for the M2000C to be limited to Blufor only. So if we are doing it illogically I'd rather have full asymmetrical balance. We have to deal with the MiG 21 being trash so why shouldn't blue deal with having a disadvantage for once

 

Also my group extensively and pretty much exclusively fly Mikoyan aircraft so don't lecture us that there's a bleedin' 29S

But atleast they are better then the MiG-23.

You do get player MiG-29Ss, btw. I doubted it too, then I joined the server and checked the Red slot list! :) Edit: Guess I should've checked Blue, as well! lol

 

I dunno, I'd like to go back to forward MiG-21s on both teams - That said, if it doesn't get changed and Blue still gets Mirages at captured spawns, would MiG-29As be a big deal for Red captured spawns? Anyone?

MiG-29As was my thought exactly, a good suggestion though they carry ERs these days.

 

As for any concerns about any pro Blue or pro Red, i'm sure the BS team just do their best to make a different event everytime. It is not easy building missions to suit everyone and no matter how you make it there will always be some not happy with the set up. The simple thing is BS created this in their vision and try and make the best of it they can for everybody with no bias intended. There is no such thing as a balanced map or balanced sides when creating such interesting and dynamic missions. Those that think they can do better should set up a server and give it a go and then wait for the s-storm to arrive, because it will come no matter how well you think you can make it. :)

I was acting as GCI and seen Harmless get killed by RvE guys over and over. I almost felt sorry for the guy. Then someone asked him how he had 8 deaths. I was also was wondering the same thing as he was flying the 29 all night.

 

I also noticed Harmless squad flying into ground and disconnect multiple times just so other guys wouldn't get the kill. Classy...

Lol, we were laughing about it wondering when he'd run out of lives.

That is a fair point, last night 373-Frogman attacked, in a Mirage 2000-C, a flight of 3 Mirage 2000-C's coming back from a patrol. With heaters.

 

At the end that patrol flight had a attrition ratio of 66% so yeah, we can't blame it all on him though ;)

Maybe because you will be able to spawn a BVR capable Mirage in our airfield, while we'll be able to spawn short range interceptor Mig-21 in yours ?

Mirage and Mig-29 were fielded in the very same year. Why not put some Mig-15 while were talking about plane set ? :D

At the moment the Mirage is hardly BVR capable , using Fox 1 is not a real possibility until radar is fixed and that could take another month atleast

considering they are still trying to debug this and patches for 1.5 are once every 2 weeks MAYBE.

The MiG 21's radar is far worse than the Mirage's and it's currently borked and still awaiting a fix. trying to use R3Rs just isn't feasable right now, as if it wasn't hard enough already.

I was unaware of the spawn stuff when I posted...

 

I'm with you on that, it seems pretty dumb...That said, its quite likely that we'll be outnumbered 5:1 during the day, so really, who cares about spawns? :)

Blue gets outnumbered in the day for me (GMT) and then night rolls around and hordes of F-15s spamraam everything in sight
