Crash_Horror Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Blue flag app upgrade imminent. Team, Can I suggest that in the next release of the desktop app, the airport/FARP codes are added to the hover labels? It is already in for the next version due tomorrow. Also, tooltips will include grids and and UTM coordinates, new "heath bars" for bases under repair, closed or open status for each asset and mission time elapsed. As you may have noticed, sometime today old desktop apps (v1.03) stopped functioning due to changes in the server scripts. There is nothing wrong on your part, it is all our fault :music_whistling: Tomorrow you will be greeted with a popup to upgrade. Thanks. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://buddyspike.net/
gregzagk Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) Thank you all for being part on the last week's testing of the server . As we had to bring the server down many times to update it we thank also for your patience. The new features have been added in the mission. There is an issue still with the statistics script which we are close to solve. What helps on this is to join the server when it's up and try to destroy an AI (F-4 or MiG-23) and shoot some ground units. Our goal still is to start the 2nd round tomorrow (Friday) at 19:00 zulu time. Updated Changelog for the 2nd round ( We may still change features or add more based on stability of the server ) - Statistics script added in order to keep stats during the campaign - SU-27’s are now allowed to carry A-G weapons - When you capture an initially enemy city your side will get SAM & EWR also in it for better defence - MiG-21’s slots will be available when you capture an initially enemy airbase - General slots (blue & red) will be available to all airbases even if some of them are dedicated for squadrons - Squadrons were added to dedicated airbases (36th squadron will move to the Red side) - Fixed the bug of radio spamming of the F-4’s (Thanks to Maverick for the tip) - Ping limit set to 400 - Night missions will be up every 4th session (each session lasts 3 hours) - Web based map and gadget will show also the status of Cities, Airbases & FARP's (Closed etc) - Gadget with the Real time map will also show grids and UTM coordinates and mission time elapsed. - Added Barracks fortification structure to the groups that you have to destroy to close and airbase or FARP. - Pilot's lifes limitation. From now on each pilot will have a limitation on his daily "lifes" in the mission. That means that if you get shot down more than the limit allows then you will be able to fly again in the next campaign day. The number of "lifes" maintain the same if you land your aircraft back to any airbase or FARP. We added this feature to improve the kamikazi issues. Now your aircraft values more :D Fly safe! ( Current limit is set to 15 lifes per day but will increase ) * You don't lose life's if you don't take off and get destroyed in the airbase of FARP. (Vulching) Stay tuned! Derk Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) Hey, this sounds great Greg, you guys are doing an amazing job. I am very much looking forward to round 2! one thing comes to mind: when you want to load troops with a helicopter from your starting farp or airbase you have to take off and land before the radio menu becomes available. If you get shot down while/after doing this, that would cost you a life even if technically you have not yet started your flight, right? If so, transport helicopters will not benefit much from this protection should they come under attack at their farp or airbase. But even so, with 15 lives a day and a bit of common sense, i don't think it will be much of an issue. edit: ah Xcom, we posted at the same time. Thanks for the explanation. So i guess my question is: what happens if you get shot/die after landing your plane? Edited September 10, 2015 by Derk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
gregzagk Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 So i guess my question is: what happens if you get shot/die after landing your plane? It should be ok as it will start counting after you take off again. :smilewink: "ARGO" DCS UH-1H DLC SP Campaign 373vFS DCS World squadron (Greece) - www.buddyspike.net "ARGO 2.0 Project Phoenix" UH-1H DLC Campaign - WIP

Ashilta Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Team, Do we know if it's possible to drop troops and pick them up again later? I'm scheming some schemes but don't know if this is possible as I'm not a transport pilot! Adam
gregzagk Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 Team, Do we know if it's possible to drop troops and pick them up again later? I'm scheming some schemes but don't know if this is possible as I'm not a transport pilot! Adam Yes. You must use the "Evacuees" function through the F10 radio menu. Process : -Land and unload your troops -Spot them again and land near them to get them back -Select the "evacuees" function and you will get a message that you loaded them again. ViFF Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Last round you restarted the server every 3 hours or so to help with the stability. The number of lives lost is remembered in case of server restart? Brilliant work guys! I'm very much hoping to see people fly carefully to take care not to lose their virtual lives. Even if its more then what a cat gets, but that's fine. S! IAF.ViFF http://www.preflight.us Israel's Combat Flight Sim Community Website

QuiGon Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Some nice changes have been done there. Especially the limited lives feature is a great addition, but 15 lives per day seems like a lot (too much?). Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Ashilta Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 Some nice changes have been done there. Especially the limited lives feature is a great addition, but 15 lives per day seems like a lot (too much?). I was discussing this with someone on Blue last night. When BLUFOR took Vody on day 6 or 7 of the first round, we ferried F-15s up from the south east. Very quickly, chopper after chopper after chopper turned up from the nearby FARP to try to recapture Vody - Greg himself must have lost 15 in the space of about two hours, let alone a full day of fighting!
fox3 Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) 15 lives a day is too much, maybe 6-8? but 5 it would be perfect i think )) so... my number is 5! Edited September 10, 2015 by fox3
gregzagk Posted September 10, 2015 Author Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) 15 lives a day is too much, maybe 6-8? but 5 it would be perfect i think )) so... my number is 5! It's very tricky. We have to be careful. There are players who have more free time and want to play more in the server so eventually they will lose more aircraft and other players that play less hours. We don't want to force anyone out of the server. We have to combine all these calculations and find the better solution. So number is still WIP :) Edited September 10, 2015 by gregzagk "ARGO" DCS UH-1H DLC SP Campaign 373vFS DCS World squadron (Greece) - www.buddyspike.net "ARGO 2.0 Project Phoenix" UH-1H DLC Campaign - WIP
Gruja Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 ( Current limit is set to 15 lifes per day but will increase ) Stay tuned! Greg I think that 15 lifes and increase is too much cozz that changes nothing. Again we will have kamikazees. You should try with 6-10 lifes for start...
Ashilta Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 My replacement Track Clip Pro just turned up in the post... I suppose I have just over 24 hours to get ready. I'm giddy with excitement!

Bushmanni Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 (edited) I suggest making the time frame for counting lives shorter like 4 lives per 6 hours (about same ratio as 15/24) so it's more meaningful also for those who play only few hours a day. And make it so that you get each lost life back after 6 hours of losing it instead of all of them at set time. This way the life system doesn't care when you play (unlike lose 15 lives just before reset and then another 15 just after, ie. 30 lives in a short timeframe) and it forces more carefull tactics also for those who play less. Also is it possible to make helicopters start cold?
