Hi guys, I was curious, this is the first time I am gonna run a beta parallel to the current version. Is it possible to copy or import my current pilot/pilot log to the new beta install when it is released? I know I have to redo inputs, reinstall missions and kneeboards etc. Also is there any way to continue a campaign in progress or does that need to be restarted with the beta install? Thanks in advance, Jason

You will get your inputs also, so you won't have to reconfig :)

Why don't you just use the beta installer to install over your regular DCS?

Thanks for the advice guys! BSS I've heard its a good idea to run in parallel in case the beta has some major bugs...Just a temporary thing.

So, if I copy and paste all my saved game files to Open Beta Saved Game, I get all my inputs, missions, kneeboards, etc?

Yes.

Yes, unless something has changed fundamentally within one of the Beta saved games files. With such an in depth upgrade, it is a distinct possibility, so back up the Beta saved games folder, then try to migrate the standard one.

If you encounter any glitches, that way you at least have a route back to the original settings by reinstalling the backed up copy.

The change log mentions an update to the Pilot Logbook so I'm curious if just pasting the old logbook in from the previous version will work. Any trouble doing that?

Yes, I didn't understand this at first either but keep the regular DCS install nice and tight so you always can game with that one. Only use Open Beta to test! It will have bugs! Even big bugs!

The fix for that would be to remove the folders, start the Open Beta and let it recreate the folders... or you can wait and try, but if you have issues, you will be do that anyways.

OK, thanks!
