So, first of all: It is MUCH BETTER than in earlier versions, thank you!

That being said, here is my problem:

I am running 4 monitors:

1. (main screen): 1920x1080

2.: 1280x1024, placed to the right side of the main screen

3.: 800x600 touch screen

4.: 800x600 touch screen

In the attached picture you can see how they are placed.

The screens 3 and 4 are placed there to reduce the unused space in the combined resolution (performance). Physically they are placed at my desk below the main screen.

The combined resolution is 4000x1200

The screens 3 and 4 are used for viewport exports, and normally I use Helios there. (not used yet since I want to test 1.5 vanilla)

It all seems to work OK (even the blackout effect now centers on the main screen, not like in former times), with the following issue:

the F-10 map is distorted. I attached a picture.

It is correctly sized and centered (unlike in 1.2.16, I am very happy about that), but it looks strange.

I assume that has something to do with the aspect ratio, but changing it to different values in the options menu has failed to fix it until now.

Adding to this thread because although the result is slightly different I suspect it is related.

In 1.2.16 the map spread across all three monitors (and even the one below). Now it is squished onto the centre monitor. See attached.

I don't have a problem with it only being in one monitor but not squished please.

Thanks. Also, although it doesn't matter much to me, the ME used to spread across all my 3 screens plus the 'instruments' one below, much like the panoramic cockpit plus instruments below. Now the ME is also only on the centre screen. I only mention it in case it's linked to the map problem. Probably a lua setting somewhere.

It would actually be really neat if they could set the F10 map up to look for a dedicated viewport (e.g. "MAP") and render in that if found - that would allow multi-monitor users to control where the map is displayed!

SkateZilla, while your looking into this is it possible to have the Ctrl+F10 ('spot location') to come up with a zoom factor that lets us see more than about 50m? I always have to frantically wind the mouse roller to see where I am as my aircraft icon rapidly disappears off the screen. For example, at 'P-51D Takeoff at Batumi' it would be nice if it were already zoomed so that it would include say the entire town of Batumi.

Looking at the behaviour of this issue in my multimonitor system, I suspect the problem is that, although the F10 map is correctly displaying itself on just the primary viewport, instead of calculating it's extents based on the aspect ratio of the target viewport, it is instead still using the overall aspect ratio of the full desktop.

Exactly what I see with the 3 Monitor Profile. And I think the above statement is what happens. With the 1 Monitor Profile its stretched over the whole desktop an the ratio is correct.

I have checked this in the beta version 1.5.0.45655, and the problem is still present.

I noted that icons rendered onto the map are not distorted, only the map objects themselves:

- The effect can be seen when zooming in on a town: the buildings are not 'square'

- Also, the MGRS grid lines are not 'square'

if it wasnt in the change log then there's no reason to suspect it was fixed yet.

I have the same issue!

Triple monitor setup (all screens the same size) default 3-monitors camera setup from the menu.

And I still can't find how to change from perspective to plan view. The buttons down the side don't do it. :(

EDIT: Dohhh! It's not perspective, it just looks like that. It's the basic squished map problem.

Just to add to this. I am also experiencing this issue. Thank you OP for reporting.

I Have 4 monitors, running Nvidia surround on 3 of the 1920x1080 monitors. With bezel correction I get a resolution of about ~ 6000 x 1080. My other monitor is 1280 x 960 and display's RMFD

My map view is also skewed in the center monitor exactly as depicted above.

Additionally I can't see any of the mission editor buttons because they are behind my bezels. (probably a problem for a different thread)

Once again thank you for reporting, and thanks devs for a wonderful product and thanks for trying to make it better.

I was wondering if someone from ED could comment on whether or not this bug is going to be addressed as the issue still exists in the release build of DSCW 1.5. With multi-monitor setups, the F-10 map view is pretty much unusable during game play.

Thanks,

Paul

Since this is now no longer a beta issue, has anyone created a help ticket?

I would hope that the devs have this on their list of fixes required. Otherwise what was the point of us spending time beta testing and giving feedback! Their were many posts about it and it's still a pain.

Any resonse here from the devs?

It is in the ED Bug tracker, hence the reported tag on the thread title.

Sadly a new map bug has taken its place, but there was a few good weeks where everything worked ..

Yes, it was nice while it lasted. Now, the map is on my left monitor, but the mouse has to be used in the center monitor to manipulate it.

Thanks,

Paul

Is there a place to follow along for any workarounds or fixes for the new map bug? I noticed the "map on left, click in center" issue here just today.

Read through the thread, it's not too long and has some ideas.
