msalama Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 (edited) See the attached files. Rename the NVI_DCS_CURRENT.txt to NVI_DCS_CURRENT.nip, or NVidia Inspector won't load it. This new (and quick & dirty, caveat emptor) config gives me a constant 30FPS capped and vsynced, if - and this is important - I remember to press Alt-Enter when the mission starts to put the sim into full-screen mode first (it starts in bordeless windowed mode by default now). This config is for an oldish GTX580 running the latest WHQL driver. EDIT: and it has to be said that this is deliberately lo-fi in order to get my aging graphics HW behaving, so don't expect anything fancy. drack Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I spent quite a bit of time with this one yesterday morning and am still experimenting. I've initially found that to get a steady 60 fps with no stutter I need to go from having the graphics card do the work and change every thing over to 'application controlled' in the control panel. Previous dcs world seemed to prefer that things were done on the gpu and didn't seem to like 'application controlled'. I'm not seeing any noticeable performance increase but 1.5 looks nice. I was getting grey flickering in the cockpit of the su25 last night when doing an IFR approach and going through cloud. I'm updating my card driver as we speak to see if that helps. I'd be interested to hear how others are getting on with this too.

dburne Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 worked a treat , getting 120fps outside the plane and 140-160fps in the cockpit. Thanks  I think that DOF setting is more for the movie makers than anything. Interesting your outside though is still lower than in cockpit, mine seems to be almost the same - but I am getting around 120-125 fps with both. I could not be more pleased with performance in 1.5. He is just talking about not having the GPU do stuff like anti-aliasing but letting DCS do that kind of stuff, It helped me a lot! dburne Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 With the gorgeous graphics and options in the GUI, I personally don't see a need to use the driver settings for this sim, I just set to application controlled, all settings maxed out in the sim, and it is beautiful! My other sims, I typically use Nvidia Inspector to set my graphics settings, don't currently see the need to do this with 1.5. JughedJones Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Yup. At the release of 1.5 I restored my control panel to default settings and jacked everything up in game. I'm stutter free with vsync.
