Azazel
I am currently running two EVGA GTX 480s in SLI and I am think it is about time to upgrade to a decent single card. Any thoughts on which video card I should upgrade to would be much appreciated. Thanks. remon
390 is the better card in general, and since 1.5 I have no problem recommending AMD cards for DCS.
zxarkov
Do you plan on running DCS at higher resolutions than current? I recommend upgrading to a Nvidia 9 series card, the 970 or 980 both excellent value for the money. More energy efficient by far than your SLI setup, also features like Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR). __________________________________________________________ i7 3930k @ 4.7GHz | GTX 980 Ti | 16GB G.Skill 2133 Quad Channel | Samsung 850 EVO SSD | Win7 ProX64 | CH Fighterstick | CH Pro Pedals | CH Throttle | BenQ XL2730Z 1440p

Azazel
Thx guys. I've been leaning towards the EVGA GTX 970 series. Half the price of the 980s and seems good enough. Probably not going to upgrade the monitor currently: 1920 x 1080 (seems really clear). I'll probably wait to see if ED can fix the issues with 1.5 and SLI but at least now I have a better idea of what to buy later on. I might have to upgrade RAM too for 2.0. Apparently NTTR will need 16GB? Brisse
Yes, good choise, especially for 1080p. No need for overpriced 980 or Titan series. 970 is the sweetspot (or 390 for those who decide to go with AMD).
ponhard
I'm getting the consumer version of Oculus when they coming in 2016. Running now on a 680 but thinking of getting a 980ti just to be safe with the rifts. Currently no problem with my 680 and 1080 monitor with 1.5. But I think it will not work with the Oculus Rift. Or do anyone have experiense with dk2? Fakum
Hmmm, Im considering a GPU upgrade myself, I need a resolution of 4480 x 1600 as i am exporting to Helios for touch screen, and my main 30" monitor can only do 60hz, so Im not trying to see if I can maintain 100+ FPS,,, I was looking into the 980, but do I really need it to max out graphics and maintain 30 FPS on occasion? Jacks
I too am looking for a new card but want to be able to oculus rift on high-max. What are people's experience of OR, will a 970 suffice or is a 980ti the minimum to achieve these settings at 60fps? Fakum
You really think so??? That thread was based on PRE BETA 1.5,,,, (it seems). I got quite an improvement with my 7970 with the Beta, but Id like to max out the graphics a bit more, but it gets a bit choppy at times. AussieFX
I'm using a 290X and getting massive fps, as much as 140 running at 2560x1440. (single player) I don't know where you would find one now, but AMD cards seem to be running DCS better (faster) than Nvidia from what I've seen. 390X would do the job nicely but if you're looking at any future DX12 titles then Fury would be my pick. Fury doesn't seem any better than Hawaii based GCN cards at DCS.

Sabre-TLA
I'm using a single GTX970 running a resolution of 4440x1080 using 2 1920x1080 monitors (one for Helios) and one 600x800 USB for the left MFCD display and no performance issues. The OpenBeta 1.5 has also been playing very well on my setup. MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates

Sabre-TLA
Crickets on the 950,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, regarding the 970, would you say your graphics options are for the most part maxed out? Yes they are. The card is performing superb in my opinion. I'll upload a screenshot of my settings when I'm next on my sim machine. Here are the screenshots. My FPS was typically between 40 and 60 and never less than that and much higher the higher I flew. This is with Helios, Left MFCD and my main screen running with Track IR.
