Hi guys, does anyone know of any good coop missions I can use for practicing sling loads in 1.5 or failing that, how easy is it to add a few loads into a previous practise mission I've already made?

Want to get practising them with the MI8 AND Huey.

It is very easy to add cargos for slingloading - you simply add a cargo from the static objects menu, of course making sure that 'can be cargo' is ticked and it's weight set. The slingloadable cargos (I believe there's only 1 at the moment) is Cargo1 found in the static objects menu under the category of cargos (any coalition should work AFAIK)

A really good tutorial I'd recommend can be found here: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3934724/Sling_loads

Cheers,

Cheers Ollie, much appreciated mate.

Will get some added to the flight practise mission already on my server then. :)

Very original mate, Cowboys server. However I only put it up when I'm flying sadly only about twice a week at the moment. :(

Nice one. I had a cargo mp mission that counted loads but it was broken by an update. Will try to revisit it.

Is there a mission available were it counts if you deliver stuff to, say: a non operational FARP? And if you have delivered enough material, it will become operational?

Last night on the 159th server, they were running a mission where ground pounders and fighters had to protect the transport helos, while those transports brought 3 FARPs online in enemy territory, by supplying them with fuel, setting up SAMs, etc. I didn't realize how heavily protected they were, so got shot down in short order, but it was fun while it lasted. Required ARC-9 navigation plus the cargo menu. I didn't get to any sling load payloads, but I think they were implemented.

Can't remember the name of the mission though.

Edit: Mission was called "Tora Bora", and every time I tried to move a sling load, but kept crashing. My Mi-8 was slick, but full of fuel. I wonder if that's too much weight. (The sling load was 2050kg)

I had plenty of power to hover and climb vertically, but as soon as I was moving horizontally, my tail would fall off.
