So obviously we know that in real life, the A-10 is built like a tank and it's SUPPOSED to be able to fly with half of one wing missing according to wikipedia, but several times I've had my wing ripped off pulling too many Gs and a clean half of one wing was gone, however, I couldn't control the aircraft at all, maybe a little bit, and eventually I end up crashing. So what's the secret? What am I doing wrong? I also see some players on YouTube occasionally, landing the A10 with 1 wing, so I know it's definitely possible. All I want to do is make fights more survivable. Thanks.

I managed a landing after losing one wing and both wings, but yeah, most of the time it's pretty much uncontrollable.

Does anyone know where the manual reversion control is? Maybe this will help when all the hydraulics bleeds away xD

You might want to make sure the first thing you do is dump all your weapons to lighten your plane.

In most cases it would be more of use to keep the weapons on the remaining wing. their weight help in stabilizing the plane. The three center pylons and remaining pylons on the ripped wing however can be cleaned with SJET.

Yeah. Flying and landing on one wing should definitly possible. The other wing is only there to handle all the bombs and stuf...

Yeah bro, that's why they have two... it's only for redundancy... duh?

Dumping wing stores, trimming and managing your airspeed right it's not a problem.

Even works on the faster jets ;)

Yes, the 15 is known for being able to fly with one wing. In fact, it's LIGHT WORK, especially if you are lucky and your hydraulics didn't get shot as well. The A-10 on the other hand, is a WHOLE different story, from what I've experienced, flying it for only a few days so far.

The F-15 is capable of flying with one wing is because of its Thrust-to-weight Ratio.

Literally don't need wings and it'll still fly lmao.

I wonder if there is console command to remove half of the wing or other part of the fuselage on demand, sort of debugging tool for damage. This way we could do some trials in landings with different physical damage to our airframes in controlled environment ;)

I once landed the the A10c with 1 and a half wing left. And i would say that im a noob pilot...

Im pretty sure thats not how you do it but:

I trimmed as much as possible and steered with the trim function and a bit of joystick input.

It was a wonder that I landed that bird...

Never parachute into an area you've just bombed

You never have too much fuel, unless you burn.

And also its gotta a very wide body compared to its wings, in the A-10 its the reverse.

SU-27 can do too

Also have some success stories on the A-10

It's really up to the situation

If you are going 300k+ and snap a wing while in a nosedive, you aren't gonna save it.

When you're going 200 knots all straight and level, there's a bigger chance you'll save it.
