Good Morning!

While playing with the Mission Editor and Google Earth I discovered discrepancies with Parking Shelter placement, Parking Spot center-lines and Object placement verses photos of Nellis on Google Earth.

1.) The shelters on the South end of the ramp are misplaced in relation to the flight line vehicle lane as follows:

Spots 112 -114

⦁ Shelter is 20 - 30 feet North East from what looks to be correct.

⦁ Parking Spots are correctly centered under or Inline with shelter and as such, equally misplaced North East of correct position.

⦁ Client Aircraft are correctly oriented on spots for Taxi to South West.

Spots 119 -125 -

⦁ Shelter is approximately 30-40 feet South West from what looks to be correct.

⦁ Parking spots are NOT correctly centered on shelter. (40-50 feet misplaced to the South West)

⦁ Client Aircraft are NOT correctly oriented on spots. Aircraft should Taxi to North East

Spots 126 -132 -

⦁ Shelter is approximately 40 feet South West from what looks to be correct.

⦁ Parking spots are NOT correctly centered on shelter. (40-60 feet misplaced to the South West)

⦁ Client Aircraft are correctly oriented on spots. Aircraft should Taxi to South West

Spots 133-139 -

⦁ Shelter is approximately 30-35 feet South West from what looks to be correct.

⦁ Parking spots are NOT correctly centered on shelter. (40-50 feet misplaced to the South West)

⦁ Client Aircraft are NOT correctly oriented on spots. Aircraft shold Taxi to North East

Spots 140-146 -

⦁ Shelter is approximately 10-15 feet North East from what looks to be correct.

⦁ Parking Spots are NOT correctly centered under or inline with shelter (20-25 feet misplaced to the South West)

⦁ Client Aircraft are correctly oriented on spots. Aircraft shold Taxi to South West

The forward edge of the shelters should be in line or almost in line with the Flightline vehicle lane passing in front of it. Also the shelters are NOT equally spaced.

2.) Parking Spots C-01 thru C-12 appear to be "Backwards". These spots are listed as "Live Ordanance Loading Area" on the KLSV Airfield Diagram. All of the pictures I can find show aircraft parked on these spots pointing toward an earthern berm directly to the East... Not toward the base. (Which only makes sense.) Client Aircraft placed on these spots spawn pointing toward base. Obviously If you know for fact that aircraft can be positioned either direction on these spots please disregard.)

I think you shouldn't waste too much time with this.

In one video Wags clearly said their NTTR wouldn't be an exact copy of the NTTR but it was close enough and they were happy with it ;)

Since I've already taken the time to make the post, Your statement about "wasting time with this" is moot. I also believe their comments about "Not being an exact copy, But close enough and they were happy with it" was directed at the various fiddly bits and details left completely OUT of the map verses details they choose to include but were placed incorrectly.

Since this is indeed an ALPHA release and they are still working on the product, I'm gonna go ahead and pass along my findings and leave it up to the people at ED to decide if they are happy with it or not...who knows.

While changing it might require an entire rewrite of the EDGE code and another 5 years in Alpha before its fixed...it just MIGHT just be something as simple as a few point and clicks...

I think I'll go ahead and let them decide...Thanks

Tend to agree with Sierra. The taxi ways, parking spots, covers and and walkways should be correctly aligned, it all looks wrong otherwise.

No big deal I agree but Nellis is going to be the airbase used most often and I would think a bit more time spent fixing that would be time well spent, if it is easy enough to do.

If not, I can live with it.

I agree with the OP & Snoopy. We want this to be the best it can be.

In addition to them not being correctly placed, I have found that they some are also not correctly aligned with the respective aircraft taxi line. Therefore when you taxi under them it results in a wing strike on the shelter support poles because the taxi line is too far to the left or right, rather than in the centre.

I noticed this at Nellis.

as for me I ended up with this:

http://forums.eagle.ru/picture.php?albumid=1131&pictureid=7479

you can't really see but planes are on top of shelters...

I see 2 issues with that parking space...

Seeing the crew chief when taxing out

and

getting to the crew bus
