dburne Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Whoa, looks like my frame rates have gone way up - like 190 fps at the beginning of the KA-50 cold start mission! Had to comment on that, now off again for little more in depth testing LOL. dburne Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Looks like they may have got the memory leak. Probably need to fly it longer to make sure. So after messing around with the cold start mission, with great performance, loaded the attack convoy instant action mission ( Ka-50). Starting from runway, first thing I noticed was performance was bad. 30 fps, I was like what the heck. Glanced at Afterburner, my GPU core clock was maxed out , but framerates were bad. I have flown this mission many times previously, and did not recall this. Checking AB more, I see the GPU usage is only at like 40%. Flying the cold start mission, it was like 99%. The further I got into the Convoy Attack mission, the GPU usage slowly climbed up to like 70% giving framerates around 70 fps. Not sure why it would not be using more of the graphics card in that mission... Lot more testing to do, just wanted to make this observation. dburne Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Downloading as well. Dburne did you try to see if in real full screen your fps changed? ( ALT+Enter) I can certainly check that, previously though I was getting great performance without full screen, I will go check that now. dburne Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 (edited) Downloading as well. Dburne did you try to see if in real full screen your fps changed? ( ALT+Enter) Nope, no difference, still the same. I know this mission did not have performance like this before, I flew it too many times, only like 35% GPU usage at the start of the mission on the runway... Edit - not sure if an actual bug, but I reported it in the 1.5 performance bug thread. I have flown this mission too many times in the previous builds, and know something is amiss on this one in this particular build. Justificus Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Running the updater or the game doesn't get it to start the update process. Makes me wonder if they are limiting it to different parts of the world in a rolling release... dburne Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 (edited) Guys try this, Browse to: C:/Program Data/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Eagle Dynamics/DCW World Open Beta/ Update DCS Open Beta. Does not matter where the game is installed, you should find that in the above location. You can right click on " Update DCS World Open Beta", and send to desktop(create shortcut). You will then have a shortcut on your desktop to update the Open Beta any time. I did this for each version of DCS World, and have shortcuts to update each on my desktop. I just update each version from the shortcut, works for me every time. Note I am running Windows 8.1 Hope this helps, Edited December 11, 2015 by dburne Don B EVGA Z390 Dark MB | i9 9900k CPU @ 5.1 GHz | Gigabyte 4090 OC | 64 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 MHz CL16 | Corsair H150i Pro Cooler |Virpil CM3 Stick w/ Alpha Prime Grip 200mm ext| Virpil CM3 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Base w/ Alpha-L Grip| Point Control V2|Varjo Aero|
