Red and white cockpit lights are still not working.

I guess the same goes for the canopy freezing effects. I think the MiG-21 we have in 2.0 is essentially the same as it was in 1.5. If there wasn't even enough time to get the radar back to work, I doubt that they found time to get new effects to work.

If I recall the canopy freezing effect and cockpit lights were disabled some time ago with the intent of getting them functional in DCS 2.0 (Or EDGE)

Now that we have an Alpha release of 2.0 how close are we to seeing these functions in game?

Thanks for any info.

Cockpit lights -- very soon.

Icing -- a ways off (new shader needs to be written)

you rather start with listing what works, that'll be faster. I hope Leatherneck will step up, it doesn't smell good for F14

..If you say so.

I do.

Sorry then, I thought you were asking because you didn't had the opportunity to test it.

I don't get why you started this thread then

@Cobra847 Thanks for the heads-up, I'm amazed by the amount of patience you have, I would already given up in your place... or got a PR guy if I had the money :smilewink:

I'm eagerly awaiting the flood lights as well, so this is good news, hope to see them soon. It sounds like a small detail when mentioned, but everyone loves shining thingies and it adds immensely to the immersion of night or near-night missions.

This is actually a major thing for me. Flying in near darkness in Oculus and fumbling for levels that might not be bound to my hotas is a bitch.

Ye we have the flashlight, but it feels extremely soviet to be whipping that out mid intercept.

You know it's easy to have the patience of a saint when you love what you do - and do what you love. I bet that's exactly how Cobra ticks. :)

If there is something not working in the Mig other then the already mentioned lighting, I'm not sure what it could be...

I can't imagine how hard it is to try making an aircraft for DCS. Considering how every patch DCS releases breaks something. As a developer it must be a hair pulling experience.
