Do people get stuttering when the simulation is paused?

I noticed mine are only apparent when the simulation is running, when I pause it an use trackIR to pan around, I get no stuttering at all.

The highest I can set my resolution is 3360x1080 I run two screens but normally only use one.

So I have tested at higher resolutions, and still do not see stutter, granted it is not 4k.

I suppose DCS is installed on your SSD, if that's the case, have you tried from an HD? That's what significantly reduced the stuttering (micro-freezes) on my system. I'm not saying everyone endures stuttering for that reason, there might be several causes.

Performance-wise, it's another matter. Yes, the FPS is lower in Las Vegas (about 40-45 FPS with a 980 Ti and "reasonable" settings - they were detailed earlier here), and it's quite good farther in the desert. But that's not a problem as long as it's rendering smoothly IMHO, and above 30 FPS or so.

Indeed, I'm also convinced the graphics card is not relevant at this level.

That might be what you feel... some monitors ( LCD, etc ), however, are only a TV with the tuner removed... they will never sync

It would be nice to know what your mobo. monitor and hard drive is though - just to get a fuller picture

its not that hard is it? :)

What, might your monitor brand and model be (is the '60Hz' what is indicates in the monitor itself)? and your WD 1TB HDD be a 7200 RPM perchance?

The x58 series, is a screamer with a good SSD ;)

What does the monitor's OSD menu (those button thingies on the side, perhaps) Info, indicate its refresh rate is?

The monitor is not relevant, you won't get freezes from it. The framerate may be reduced if you enable vertical synchronization and the graphics card is not configured with triple-buffering, but you can enable it in your nVidia's settings to overcome this.

But ... didn't you say you weren't having stutter issues a while ago? Have they come back, and could you explain exactly what you see (the word "stuttering" is used differently by different people sometimes).

For example, if you load NTTR for the first time since reboot, and you look around, does it freeze for noticeable amount of time? Does that improve after one or two minutes?

The HDD might well be the explanation in that case. If that's something else, please give us more details on the problem.

I'm not getting much stutter now only at real low level

Thought quite a few others were suffering more on here than me?

1.5TB Hdd <- i dont know if you changed..but moving to a SSD is how i got rid of the rest of my stuttering. even with 24GB ram it still pulls from you HDD to load textures and if it's not fast enough you get stuttering.

i has a ASUS G74 laptop also and it gets 50+fps sitting still but the second i look around it starts a stuttering mess, it's the reason it now has a 480GB ssd in the other bay.

SSD's are cheap.
