or at a guess, you have DCS installed in program files ... change the installation directory of DC to be in a folder you create yourself x:\Games\ or similar ...

I have DCS installed on a different drive than my C Drive, but I'll give this a shot.

I assume you have also tried right click run as admin, but that will give you a a UAC prompt

@SkateZilla UPDATE.
1. OpenXR API works as intended (as long as you use the Launch w VR/ON option) with ST too.

2. If Slots are not populated at start then by clicking Scan in Build Manager it brings them up again.

3. Not sure if it's intended but MT option is ON everytime the app is starting
 

Question: Is it possible to rename Presets as before?

Is there any way to increase the size of the UI?  At the moment, it is VERY difficult to read some text - particularly Console/Log - on a 4K display.

I don't understand why this utility appears as a trojan, the windows antivirus eliminates it for me. However in previous versions there is no problem.

So, like @speed-of-heat the utility does not see my presets/settings on launch. I have to go to Build Manager and do a scan before everything goes to normal and I am able to launch DCS.

right click>>properties>security>>check unblock. do this to archive before extract.

Another issue. Even though I have set the backup folder as below, the utility keeps creating a folder in the incorrect location as below.

Can this be related to my post a couple up from here? Utility not reading profile etc. on startup?

This is the same problem another user is having,

on Startup it hangs just before scanning builds, which is why it says not detected for everything.

I am looking into the startup order for anything that can cause the Build Scanner to hang.

I will have to Check, but IIRC OneDrive Folders are usually not visible to all apps.

Check the log, it should state if the folder was not accessable.

1. Good to hear as that's the way it's intended.
2. I am tracking this issue, once I find the root cause for the scanner to hang. I can fix it.
3. MT is the Default, ST is Legacy/Support Mode, which is why it's always on if it detects the MT Binaries, I may make it so it remembers the user settings.

1) re not working on startup until a scan is done, I have attached a log file.  I don't see any errors or hangs.

2) OneDrive folders are not the issue I don't think as your utility recognises the Saved Game folders which are relocated by Windows to OneDrive and it is also happy accepting the OneDrive folder for your log files and settings as per the graphic I posted.  What it doesn't do, is accept the specified backup folder as you are creating one in a location I have not specified, again as shown in the attachment above.  The path chosen does not fully show in the UI, but I assume that you have restricted the number of characters that can be shown.

3) It's not so much the black backgrounds that are hard to read, it's just that in 4K, the text is so small in places that it is almost impossible to read.  The ability to stretch the window would be a solution to this.

Yeah, that works fine.  I'm trying to use Skate's GUI to do it.  Really a nice to have, not need to have.

if the App is run as Admin, any processes it launches should inherit the same elevation.

Yes, your log file is the same as the other's im tracking, the startup hangs at the Build Scanner start after it checks processes.

Also if you could provide log from when you attempt backup of files and it goes to the default folder vs the set folder..

Thanks Skate. It's not so much the actual backup as such (which I haven't tried yet), it's the fact that your utility creates the folder that I showed in the attachment above on startup containing the backup folder which is not the one specified in-app.  There is no backup folder in the location specified in-app.

The App with Default settings creates the folder in the Windows %UserProfile% folder, if the folder's been moved via Power User or 3rd Party App, then it's beyond my app's control.

But have you set the custom user profile folder in the app options?

Thanks, sounds good.  I can confirm, I'm running Updater 2.0 as administrator, but the app (3dMigoto) is not being run as administrator if I use a shortcut from Updater.  If I use a Taskbar, or desktop shortcut for the same app, then it runs as administrator.

Presets can be renamed by clicking on the Preset Tag on the Home Page.

Thanks again. Maybe I'm not explaining myself too well here.  All my user folders are located by Windows on OneDrive by right-clicking on the folder and selecting 'Change Location'..  So, for example Pictures folder is actually located at C:\Users\imack\OneDrive\Pictures and Windows sees it as such.  Same with 'Saved Games'.  All works perfectly with all apps including your Utility v1.

With v2, I have set the custom user folder and the backup folder to the correct location as you can see from the attachments.  You can also see from the 3rd attachment that the utility sees the Saved Game folder perfectly OK in OneDrive.

So, the DCS functions work OK, and your folder for the log files and settings also work OK at the locations specified. But, the backup one doesn't and that is the issue.  The utility creates a folder C:\Users\imack\Saved Games\DCS Updater Utility\Backup which is not the one specified in 'Custom User Profile' where your log files and settings are stored.

So, the backup folder issue has nothing to with OneDrive.  I set it to a local folder and it still didn't work. I reckon it has to do with the big issue, i.e. the app isn't loading my preferences/settings at startup and therefore just creates the folder in the default location.
