Does Track IR work any more consistently with the Track Clip Pro than with the little reflector thingie that comes with it. I cannot use my track IR during the day because a window behind my desk screws it up, and even at night it just doesn't seem to work as well as it appears to work for others judging by their vids.

Track Clip Pro works fine with me any time, in fact most of my flying time be in dark room.

As per my understanding, Track Clip Pro sends IR and Track IR will receive it then analysis it rather than sending IR and reflect it by the reflector

TrackIR works better on a light background with some sort of LED clip.

However, I don't recommend the Track Clip Pro.

It is too flimsy, has weak red LEDs and gets loose in its fixation over time.

I use the DelanClip which is much better: More sturdy (made in metal), fixed much better with strips and with powerful IR LEDs.

My Track IR seemed much more accurate when I switched from the Track Clip Pro.

There are other alternative clips as well, but haven't tried those personally.

DelanClip you can get here:

IMO Track Clip pro is much better than the reflectors.

But as Sporg said it is really flimsy and needs to be treated with kid gloves or it breaks really easily. Mine broke after I dropped my headphones. I now use the Delan clip and it is a much better option.

I've been using Track Clip Pro for 4ish years. Never had a problem and it's never broken. I don't baby it. I'm pretty sure it has fallen off my desk many times. I must be the odd ball in this regard.

Get the PRO you won't regret it.

There was a point a few years ago where Track IR Pro clip was very fragile and Natural Point was having to replace a lot of those pro clips. They redesigned the pro clip and made it a little beefier.

Probably why some have had problems and others maybe not so much.

In fact I had a Pro Clip that I had never taken out of the box, had gotten it in a Track IR Bundle deal a few years ago. I recently added a headset for the first time, and decided to give the pro clip a try. I mean I had just put it on, the headset fell onto my desk out of my hand, and that thing snapped so easily. I emailed NP about my frustration, they asked me to send them the serial number and a pic, turned out mine was one of the earlier more fragile units, and they sent me a replacement unit at no charge.

I have a similar situation with a door window behind my computer. At night, with the garage door closed, I can use the reflectors but any other time I have to use the clip (I bought the unit used and it came with both). MORG

I have gone through 4 track clip pros.. a $20 knock off from hong kong and settled on a delanclip.

The trackclip pro is a horrible design. sure.. it works better than the hat clip..but it's a horrible design, easy to break. Even the newer "stronger" ones they put out I went through in no time.

Delanclip comes with an optional rechargable usb power supply that lasts for at least 6 hours..

I'm interested in what I saw some one post in the eagle forums though as well.

Thanks guys. I might get the Delanclip to tide me over until the Oculus Rift releases.

Over the years, my TIR Clip Pro has been glued, taped and cable tied. It really is a bad design. I recently ordered the DelanClip which is yet to arrive.
