Hi,

Has anyone been able to successfully use NVIDIA ShadowPlay with DCS 1.5.x or 2.x to record video?

All my other games currently work with it but cant get DCS to. Maybe Direct-X version?

I find I have to hit ALT-ENTER and then it will work.

so you set ALt-Enter as the record key command? Will give it a go

thanks

sweet left-alt-enter worked for me. I always assumed I was in Full screen mode in DCS before!!

thanks for the quick help

Yeah Alt+Enter seems to be a must with ShadowPlay

Even if you have fullscreen selected in your options, you still need to Alt+Enter, as far as I can tell!

Thats my only complaint about it, it works just as well as Fraps but takes up 500x less space, been using SP for a few weeks now, very impressed with it!

Do you have 'allow desktop capture' selected? I think you need that on for DCS capture.

no I didn't have it on, but turns out its cause I wasn't in full screen mode. I have to left-alt-enter now to get it too work.

BTW is their a way I can automatically go into full screen mode in dcs without always alt-enter? I have "Full Screen" enabled in Options

thanks for the help

Its a reported issue, so they know about it, not sure on a timeline for it to be fixed.

actually got one more question. anyway to bind my TM Warthog radio button (which I use for push to talk on teamspeak) to ShadowPlay? Seems I cant bind any joystick controls.

Will try that now :)

No problem:) I've been using Shadow Play for quite a while now- great way to record videos without decrease in performance. Sometimes I use SP to check if I've turned on fullscreen mode (with ALT-enter)- if DCS is not in fullscreen starting to record will bring up DCS logo for a second.

I use shadowplay in windowed mode and its very reliable, the issue is that Nvidia like to update it and it can break and sometimes it can crap out if streaming if you dont set the right bitrate.

It's very convenient and a bonus you dont have to run any "extra software", it is still "beta" tho and they have a habit of breaking it again.

Anyway of stopping this? Apart from using Voice Activation...

have you binded the push to talk button to a joystick by any chance? I'm trying to work out how in shadowplay

Haven't seen that yet. That being said I'm still testing SP as well. Have you tried the "capture the last X amount of minutes" feature yet? Or are you just rolling footage?

I tried the capture previous footage once, in game, and the camera locked looking at my pilots virtual crotch and the game froze. I'm sure all this was completely my fault, just want to know if you've had success.

I check capture desktop and alt f9 to record.

ShadowPlay loads at system startup and a quick Alt f9 toggles it to record until I hit it again to stop it.

It has worked flawlessly for a very long time for near anything whether full screen or windowed..
