Is there a message log for the radio message text? Or even a way to recall recent ones?

Some of the coordinates in missions appear for about 5 seconds and it's not long enough to enter it in the CDU or write it down.

No, there is not. I'd advise having active pause key handy :)

I found that radio messages sometimes time out on active pause, the ones on the right do. I have taken to using normal pause and getting a pen.

Shame no log. I miss calls all the time in the heat of a run in.

I like to keep paper and pencil close and use them to take notes. Not just coordinates either, I found myself sketching the target area more than once in TEW. whether following a radio description or based on what I see through the TGP (or my MK0.5 eyeballs).

Also, consider dumping 30€ for a cheap wireless keyboard, buy a tablet stand, and create a simple UFC with paper and double sided duct tape. This may seem like a minor addition to your simpit, but it improved my effectiveness with the CDU tenfold, since I can now enter data without fiddling with the mouse and the views.

I realize this is viable only if you have all HOTAS commands on your stick and throttle though.

You could always build a UFC :smilewink:

It is WIP right now working on adding the text to it. But it does function 100%

Came here looking for the same thing. Currently, I'm taking a photo of the message. Such a dicky method but I have no memory and it usually takes me a while to get to the right screen.

Not sure if a mod could be implemented for recalling radio messages.

I have a wireless k/b I could use as Galiptal has. Could look into that after I finish moving house.

Love what CAT 101st has done there. I have my MFDs at the bottom of the screen and haven't setup Helios again since I moved last time.

I've been looking into touch screen panels for 27 inch monitors. If I can sort that out, I may setup an onscreen UFC and/or CDU via Helios.

Gotta be cheaper than the AU$1000+ plus postage from simparts. More for a CDU, but makes be dream of being rich. Perhaps I should stop simming and get a job.

I bought a knee board from Flyboys and use that to write stuff down. That way I can write it down right as I get the coordinates. It's what pilots use so I thought it would be a good thing to have.

Perhaps an opportunity for Amazon's Alexa? Just have her take note and read it back to you. It has stunningly good mic and listening.

Now we know why some A10 pilots use grease pencil and the cockpit as a whiteboard.

Yah vote for kneeboard as a scratchpad. Think about the reality here. Irl you dont even have the visual message. You must record what you hear. Its all recorded on a scratchpad and entered slowly into the ufc etc so limited hardware is irrelivant. Print some 9-line briefing cards and fill them with a pencil during the radio call.

I have a second screen, touch screen actually and before I fly I have a "flight pack" pdf's pics etc that get loaded to that screen and also the screen shot folder is there so I just screen shot and open later in an altitude hold pattern. Used my iphone for screen pics also in the past. All of you probably have some old junky monitor laying around just get you a wall or desk mount and see your SA rise.
