WelshZeCorgi Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Used search box, couldn't find anything about 2.0 going into beta, was curious, haven't been in touch with DCS for a month now, was curious.

Jumbik Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 It's the main thing they are working on now, or at least it was stated. I suppose they want to make the platform feature full and introduce new "early access" model (was also stated in newsletter) so they can release new beta and aplha modules on Steam also. Do, or do not, there is no try. -------------------------------------------------------- Sapphire Nitro+ Rx Vega 64, i7 4790K ... etc. etc.
Silver_Dragon Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 The 1.5 + 2.0 coming out the beta as the 2.5 unified version, but no dates ( 25 March 2016 Newsletter ). http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2722709&postcount=21 Our current focus is on the merger of DCS World 1.5 with DCS World 2.0. This version, termed DCS world 2.5, will return us to a unified DCS version with the new graphics engine and be capable of supporting multiple maps. In addition to these features, we also plan to include an improved Caucasus map, new and improved explosions and clouds, improved network code, and the new procedural grass and ground clutter. didilman Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I dont wait 2.5 before august minimum. I would be surprised if it comes before.
Raven68 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I dont wait 2.5 before august minimum. I would be surprised if it comes before. I feel it will be this month when we see a beta release of 2.5. By performing the code synchronization, both 1.5.3 and 2.0.1 versions share the same code features, which makes the further development and adding of new features much easier for us. The above statement from a February newsletter gives me confidence that they're very close to completing the merger. Chief1942 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Also this. "In addition to showing off the Gazelle, we will also be providing a first look at a massive texture overhaul DLC of the Caucasus map done by Starway. More information on this will be coming. That from Wags, so it sounds as though we now know where Starway has been hiding these last several weeks:music_whistling: Intel i5-4690K Devil's Canyon, GForce TitanX, ASUS Z-97A MB, 16GB GDDR3 GSkill mem, Samsung SSD X3,Track IR, TM Warthog, MFG Crosswind pedals, Acer XB280HK monitor,GAMETRIX KW-908 JETSEAT
Fri13 Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Calling it as 2.5 sounds strange to me. As it is huge step forward. I would expect those to be in 2.0 Beta and then get released. Then get first feature add with 2.1 and so on. Now going to 2.5 is like "What happened to 2.0?" i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
Ratcatcher Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I would imagine as 2.0 is associated with the Nevada terrain, so calling this 2.5 "should" alleviate any confusion between the two.
