MegOhm_SD Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 (edited) Perhaps we could solve the re-fueling debacle with a KC-130 or other Multicrew module where we could have a human boom operator. only problem is I doubt there are enough customers that would want such a module to make it viable. But this is a wish list thread... :pilotfly: Edited April 25, 2016 by MegOhm_SD Cooler Master HAF XB EVO , ASUS P8Z77-V, i7-3770K @ 4.6GHz, Noctua AC, 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro, EVGA 1080TI 11GB, 2 Samsung 840 Pro 540GB SSDs Raid 0, 1TB HDD, EVGA SuperNOVA 1300W PS, G930 Wireless SS Headset, TrackIR5/Wireless Proclip, TM Warthog, Saitek Pro Combat Pedals, 75" Samsung 4K QLED, HP Reverb G2, Win 10

But this is a wish list thread... :pilotfly: KC-130 doesn't have a boom. You are probably thinking of the KC-135. I'd throw down for a KC-10A Extender with that feature. It was originally purchased to take some of the workload off of the KC-135 by supporting Tactical aircraft operations so the KC-135's could concentrate on their SIOP support mission. Truly superior pilots are those that use their superior judgment to avoid those situations where they might have to use their superior skills. If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck! "If at first you don't succeed, Carrier Landings are not for you!"

Thanks for the correction. Also, I did not realize there was already a thread about this. MikeMikeJuliet Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 I don't think there would be any need for multicrew for such a module to work... Controlling the aircraft could be simplified to selecting headings, speeds and altitudes for an autopilot-type of control, so the aircraft would acgually fly by an AI given directions by the player. Add to that the boom operator position, and you could have a AAR module akin to CA. This would of course only benefit Miltiplayer... I don't really see the appeal in refueling AI. Could be a simple support-module to build, relatively speaking, no? It wouldn't sell an awful lot of copies though... Regards, MikeMikeJuliet DCS Finland | SF squadron

But yeah it would be strictly multiplayer as again, I don't really see the fun in having it refuel AI aircraft, it would far from hurt to have it though... j-tk Posted June 17, 2017 Posted June 17, 2017 I would love to be the boom operator in a good VR setup, glass in your face, the earth below whizzing by, that dot closing in, without you and your skill their only option is to ditch.... Granted you'd need a good pilot to get that heavy beast off the ground, and help match speeds.
