Maybe already discussed.

Would it make sense to introduce paratroopers in dcs?

Infantry that can parachute out of an airplane or descend from a helicopter?

This is a component of what I'm hoping for in future modules because it enhances the whole concept of what it means to be a sandbox sim.

We can already (and I do) use the slick Huey for that (and the Mi-eight).

Can you assign combat tasks to infantry units in CA? That'd open up mission building ... can't say I've ever really looked ... maybe I should.

Wishlist Terrains - Bigger maps

Wishlist Modules - A variety of utility aircraft to better reflect the support role. E.g. Flying the Hornet ... big yawn ... flying a Caribou on a beer run to Singapore? Count me in. Extracting a Recon Patrol from a hastily prepared landing strip at a random 6 figure grid reference? Now yer talking!

That will be even more interesting, when we get our first cargo plane (e.g. C-130, C-160).

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

British Special forces that started to do fast-roping from helicopters wasn't before 1982 if I remember correctly.

So we need to remember that what vehicle or era we are talking about in missions.

This is something that would be nice so that when a mission editor makes year to be under, it wouldn't be available.

I started rappelling from choppers in the early 80's and we were doing it as SOP (Recon 8/9RAR) way before that. If I recall correctly we went to blue-water nylon in 82/83?

I'm guessing that's what you mean by 'fast-roping'.

YUP. Working on Puma and Wessex in the late 70s in the RAF, we certainly had, and used rappel ropes for the standard infantry squaddies to monkey down en mass.

Would be awesome to have paratroopers fall out of the back of a C-130 or C-17. Would be an interesting dynamic (and visually!) for mission development as well as on servers like BlueFlag, where players could call in a para-drop to take an airfield rather than just a helicopter insertion...
