So err, have you figured it out yet? Who's the best pilot?

Stats should be a bit of fun and not taken seriously, as it's not reliable at keeping count. We all know who is good, don't need a monthly score to justify to others how good I am.

I don't understand what kind of fun could possibly come from a thread like this, but sure go ahead.

Over 9000:1

Actually, its more like 4.8:1 overall. (counting all three (or two??) stats rotations)

If only I could add a nice 5.2 to that...

LoL whut what...!!!!! So we can post all or other experiences but not stats? Why is stats even on? Why do we have logbooks (single player)? That you think this is about who has the biggest dick contest shows more about your self. I'm just curious.. Cause all these numbers do say something. Even if they differ a lot. You guy's are a bunch of ass hats.. thinking right away stats are bad. If this was a full dynamic campaign where everything would have been "more realistic" i would still show my stats. It tells me more about you people, you insinuate that you will only show stats to show you have the biggest d***. How insecure.

The annoying thing about stats is.. the moment you start playing for stats it gets boring and useless. I could fly out, get one kill as safely as possible, then retreat significantly or rtb before next attack to have near perfect stats. Only, this cuts the actual combat time to almost zero.

For me is more engaging to fly for action. Taking big risks, getting into dangerous, even suicidal situations, see how it plays out, learn from the extreme combat. It's bad for stats, but it's great for combat skill development and it's not boring!

Of course I'm talking about the regular daily flying. Flying in competitions is different, there you better pay attention and play it safe. Believe me I've learned the hard way :)

I like to sometimes do a long flight high altitude and flank them, it's nice to just fly around. That is not even for stats. And i also like to have a lot of action with ridiculous risks. And i'm not doing that for stats either. These stat things i only discovered recently. Like two months ago. I think it was funny to post it... Little did i know everybody go's mad and crazy about posting some numbers. If people can get heated and mad because of stats they are little baby's. I think it's funny to see that i fired a shitload of AMRAAM's and not even half of them hit. Pretty interesting numbers.

Stats ignore sooooooooo many important factors that they become quite meaningless...Stuff like TKs, lag-kicks, engaging in 1v3s, manoeuvre kills, kill steal, formation flights (where a kill is often the work of two), etc.

Also like sweeper said, server reset so often that without something to keep track of stats, all I can say is that my trade rate is between 4 and 8...

I can understand now why it go's down hill... Cause they act like baby's when they see some numbers and start talking about d*** contests.

I'm on your side Winchester, I don't see a reason to poison a thread with pointless negative comments just because one doesn't like it...

Comparing public server stats tends to be equally sensible as missile P_k deduced from combat statistics. You don't have any idea where those numbers came from so you can't make any meaningful comparisons either. It can be a good aid for an individual to measure progress as long as the conditions on how the numbers were achieved are taken into consideration.

There are competitions for those people who want to measure their skills in a fairly consistent environment although luck does still play considerable role for example in Virtual Red Flag but much less in Top Gun or similar events where there's only few players in the fight at a time (the player with most skill always gets the kill instead of one that happens to stumble into the right spot at the right time).

Might have been a bit harsh in my first post.

I don't care much about stats, but I guess people should be able to post them if they want to. :)
