As you know current Mirage sounds as of (1.5.4) Is lets say ... not great, It lacks the Umpfh it deserves and It's way to quiet

Now of course Mirage Sounds are still WIP but while we wait for that I decided to experiment a bit

So with the help of the CptSmiley's "fix" he posted I did some tweaking of my own and I would appreciate your guys feedback on these new Sounds for Mirage

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Version (v7) is out for 1.5.4

(This is No longer Necessary ... The Final Version is Implemeted in the Core Game by Default from the Developers)

Version 7:

- Fixed Idle engine stutters

- Increased External Engine Volume

- Minor Tweaks

- Minor Fixes

- Added other Warning tones etc ... (Credit goes to sedenion)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's completed and besides Shutdown and startup sounds I don't have much else to do

(Might end up in release version next patch)

Linked files are JSGME Ready and just test it out if you want and tell me what you think of it.

Enjoy

Check the files

Who... that's louder, yes.. better, but a bit too loud now :D I think the main engine rumbling is too loud specialy in the cockpit and in "front" of the aircraft, and the turbine sound still missing, but yes, now we fly a jet, not a glider :D

In think the *.sdef need to be tweaked... If that can help:

- The innner radius is the sphere within the sound is at its maximum gain (volume)

- The outer radius defines the "fading sphere", between inner radius and outer radius the sound gain decrease, beyond the outer radius, the sound disapear.

- The inner cone, is the one withing the sound is at its maximum gain (withing the inner radius).

- The outer cone is the "fading cone", between inner and outr cone, the sound gain decrease.

- The "outer gain" is the minimum gain that sound must have even beyond the "outer cone".

- The "direction" give the vector to create the inner and outer cones

Ya I agree it's a bit to loud tho I cranked up the volume in the volume mixer for this video so it can be heard more clearly

There are stuff to tweak, I think I've put turbine sound way to low

But at least it's something until Sound is completed by the devs

I tested in live, this is why i say it's a bit too loud now :)

I love this! The mirage deserves a good sound

But now I cant hear any warning sounds (Over-G, Stall...)

Is it possible to make them louder too?

Thank you very much!

Yes it's possible

Go to the Mod folder and

/Mods/aircraft/M-2000C/Sound/sdef/

And edit or delete AOA_Exceed.sdef ... or whatever sound you want

You can edit them with Notepad++ or regular notepad

You control the volume by editing the "gain = xxx" line

Gain = 0 -> Mutes sounds

Gain = 1 -> Normal sound

Gain = 5 -> Louder Sound

Had my first game crash on Blueflag with this mod, however I dunno if it's related to the sounds themselves. The in-cockpit engine sounds are way too high. In real life what you hear in the pit are wind and avionics, plus with the helmet on the head you shouldn't hear much of what's going on outside. For now it sounds like you have someone really close on your 6. Other than that, the exterior sounds are just fine !

UPDATE:

Version 2 download link is up

Volume level is tweaked a bit making it little less noisy

_______________________________________________

Currently in process of making a Version 3

This version will feature Cone control over turbines so the turbines will be able to hear louder you're looking in front of the aircraft and less if you're staring at the engine of the plane

Will also fine tune everything else I can

Stay tuned

Hi Rlaxoxo, i "moded" your mod

Sdef modifications:

- I have created proper radius & cone angles for all sounds

- Adjusted gain values for more balanced global ambiance

- Adjusted pitch for some sound, to get good transition and effects

- Adjusted gain for cockpit alert & magic search/seek

Sound modifications:

- e_M2kC_combustion_idle : equalized with less high freq to get better effect at high pitch

- e_M2kC_turbine_mid : passed it in "mono", get better effect and prevent strange effect for transition from mid to full

- Converted all sound in OGG format (much more lightweight)

Just have a try, and tell me...
