Hi all.

I am having extremely blurry runway textures. I can't even see the white stripes in the middle. I am running textures at high, 1440p with 16xQ and 16x antistrophic filtering. During approach, the runway looks very one dimensional and has only one type of grey. It's like landing on a bland grey color palette.

Any help?

Aniso filtering rather than AA. I seem to recall some people reporting it stopped working correctly in 1.5.4 OB and had to be forced through card drivers. Thought it was fixed then but maybe not? Will test on my PC later.

Not just AA people, mipmap setting can also deteriorate these things even with high AA as far as I can remember. He clearly said he has AA set to very high, are you reading at all? :D

Don't ask, here's the answer: 95% of my posts are edited because I have OCD.

We can read, and yes he's allegedly cranked them up, but in DCS the in-game settings have a history of working not quite correctly when the driver ones in card ctrl panel cause conflicts.

It's all guesswork anyway, 'cause OP didn't bother to show screens of how his runway looks and how the gfx card is set up both in-game and in the Windows.

nVidia's Drivers seem to be causing the issue from what I've read on other forums.

Also the trees look bad (Starway's) like they load alow MIP very quickly.

I don't have latest nvidia drivers... maybe I should upgrade to see if it solves something else I'll try to force everything from drivers.

Just in case double check if the aniosptric filtering option is set to "application-controlled" in NVIDIA Control Panel. If this doesn't help maybe setting 16x there will work.

It didn't worked. Many textures on the terrain look bad. I hope this will be fixed somehow.

App controlled set in NVidia cpl works with chosen Aniso set in the game, as seen on screens (16x vs off). Could be better further from camera, but then I've got texture quality set to "high performance", so I can live with low mipmaps kicking in, as long as high fps is there.

It looks like the picture on the right for me. Except even a little bit more blurry. I never bothered with the nvidia applications until now as everything worked as expected. I am always on the latest drivers. Any guideline what I could change? It's weird that the settings for DCS don't work as expected. I have never seen something like that in any game/simulator ever.

OK, do You have anisotropic filtering set to "application controlled" or not (in Nvidia control panel), because that should be the starting point of the conversation and You haven't provided us with this info.

If not, do so, if yes, leave it like that and THEN set aniso in the game menu to 16x.

No I haven't done that. Will check today.

Edit: Nvidia control panel did the trick. Thanks for the troubleshooting.
