Hahaha. Now to see if you can land it on a building.

I was wondering if the tail hook (despite only being for airfields) would actually work or not on the carrier. I'm guessing that interaction gets coded on a per plane basis? Anyways, I'm both happy and a bit sad that we can't break realism too easily in that sense. At the end of the day, I'd much rather this be more sim than arcade.

Because:

A. The Hook is Not designed for Carrier Ops.

B. Arresting Functions are likely not coded to interact with EFM/AFM/PFMs

The only Carrier Aircraft in DCS is the Su-33 which still uses SFM.

LOL - and yeah, about that hook: tried it prior to this vid and it did NOT work. But a chute is always useful ;)
Does the hook actually extend?

I have tried around 20 approaches and only managed to hook the wires once, every other time I ended up in the water or back around for another go. I guess the F5 just ain't really naval carrier ops aircraft. Anybody got any tips on technique to hook the wire better?
