It is not hard, I just did it for a new mission and followed the Mist Guide for the function

mist.flagFunc.units_in_polygon

I set these polygon-zone units as Invisible and used five units to define the area.

Kinda missing the point here.

The autonomous GCI script does a similar thing, you place a unit with late activation, but never activate it, and create waypoints for that unit. The zone is then defined by the area surrounded by the route of that unit

Sorry, what I mean is that you can create a rectangular zone on the outline of a taxiway. It would take four ground units using the function above.

Actually, I believe you can do it with one unit per trigger zone. Simply put the unit in one corner of the area of the taxiway you want to use as a trigger-zone, and give the unit a path along the edges of the taxiway, with a turning point at each corner so that the path defines the outline of the trigger-zone, and set the unit with delayed entry to sometime long after the mission is over.

That being said, having to jump through Hoops-n-Barrels™ to define a non-circular trigger-zone is a PITA, and it shouldn't be.

I've been trying to figure out the MIST and Scripting engine language for building a square trigger zone, but I am totally lost. I just can't wrap my head around it at all, and I've spent days on it. I guess an old dog can't learn new tricks.

Does someone have (or can someone create) a sample mission that you've made which has a square (or non-circular) trigger zone so I can take a look at how you made it in the mission editor?

I'd be very grateful for any assistance anyone can provide.

Can you please upload a mission with that stuff?

So I can see how its made and how it looks like in the editor.

Thanks
