Tips for simshaker for aviators setup

Hi, maybe anyone here have tips of how to setup simshaker in way that would allow me to feel small changes in pitch axis. I know it have g effects but they are very exponential and unnoticeable in small changes in pitch, but kicks in hard when pulling g's. I want feedback just for subtle changes.

Hi,

Good question. Historically wise, we've got such effect in SimShaker Wings for IL-2 and Condor2, intended mostly for vibrating seats. But we don't have it in SimShaker for Aviators at the moment.
If it's handy for aerial refueling maybe it's worth adding for other sims.

It would be very handy, since without motion platform it's only visual references left to rely on. It would be helpful addition 🙂 And areal refueling is quite hard task to be consistent:)

And since I've started to use ffb stick and pedals, I didn't used simshaker anymore, but those effects that would help flying in formation or for refueling  would be helpful indeed:)

I wonder you use SimShaker with bass-shakers or vibrating seat?

Guys, anyone more would use such an effect when aerial refueling?
I mean the effect when you feel even slight changes in aircraft pitch and roll helping you adjusting of the aircraft position fine?

I wouldn't be opposed to it, but without feeling what it would add, it's hard to say if it would be an improvement or not. I get a lot of feedback from the F-14 as is, and I like that, so more is better? 🙂

I'm not updating this anymore. It's safe to assume I have all the stuff, and the stuff for the stuff too. 🙂

SimShaker profiles are not related to DCS Saved Games folder. They are stored in the Documents/SimShaker for Aviators folder.

Oh bugger....  ummmm.. what would the files for each module look like?

Similar ask,  having yaw effect from center is something I think would be amazing for prop plane where coordinated flight is a constant battle.

Thank you for the suggestion. Does anyone else think it would be helpful?
I mean the effect based on the slip ball inclination.

@=Andre= @f4l0

question.

what is purpose of "location preset" drop down menu in the simshaker sound module app?

i have some choices for left right speaker relative to how many channels i choose.

at this time i choose 3-6 (5.1 surround) for number of shakers, and i left location preset blank...

and explanation is appreciated

Great question!
It's location of а shaker or shakers based choices. Possible ones at the moment (Sound Module version 2.41):
1 shaker case selected in the Sound Module settings:
Undefined (Base) - somewhere, not defined, in the middle. The samples to use are taken from the Documents\SimShaker Sound Module samples\Base\1 subfolder.
Left - assumes that shaker is on the left side. The samples to use are taken from the Documents\SimShaker Sound Module samples\Base\1\Left subfolder.
Right - assumes that shaker is on the right side. The samples to use are taken from the Documents\SimShaker Sound Module samples\Base\1\Right subfolder.
Blank - plays nothing by default. The samples to use are taken from the Documents\SimShaker Sound Module samples\Base\1\Blank subfolder and they are all just silence. This preset can be used as a base for a multi-shaker setup when you want to assign to this shaker only few effects.
For example you want to place a little shaker on a stick and make it shaking when the stall effect is active only. In this case you can
1) Go to the Test the Module tab and type in the search field "stall", select the sample in the dropdown and hit the Customize the Sample button.
2)This will take you to the Samples Customization tab when you can adjust the desired vibration strength and hit the Make Customized Sample(s) button. That's it.
3)Hit the Reload Samples button which will take you back to Test the Module tab where you can check what you've got with the customized sample.

Customized samples are stored in the Documents\SimShaker Sound Module samples\Customized\1 subfolder.

2 shakers case:
Left & Right (Base) - assumes that one shaker is on the left side and one shaker is on the right side. The samples to use are taken from the Documents\SimShaker Sound Module samples\Base\2 subfolder.
Blank - plays nothing by default. The samples to use are taken from the Documents\SimShaker Sound Module samples\Base\2\Blank subfolder. Please see the explanation above. Customized samples are stored in the Documents\SimShaker Sound Module samples\Customized\2 subfolder.

3 - 6 shakers case:
3Left & 3Right (Base) - assumes that up to 3 shakers are on the left side and up to 3 shakers are on the right side. The samples to use are taken from the Documents\SimShaker Sound Module samples\Base\6 subfolder.
Blank - plays nothing by default. The samples to use are taken from the Documents\SimShaker Sound Module samples\Base\6\Blank subfolder. Please see the explanation above. Customized samples are stored in the Documents\SimShaker Sound Module samples\Customized\6 subfolder.

Ok great explanation and thank you for clarification

I didn't see it in the sound module documentation, only something about partnering ( i forget the actual term)

I have a desparte setup with 6 shakers

4 for left right, one for the butt kicker lfe and one for my doorgun joystick so my sound solution is true custom wav files..

Sounds like have to revisit my files there has been changes in wav files in the past few months 🤔

I will add this information into the User Guide.
If you are happy with your custom files there may be no need to revise them.

i dont know if im happy with files.. i know they were good 6 months ago.. if there have been updates or additional files added in the past few patches, i have to double check them again since i dont play all the dcs modules often.

i do want to ask, what is the best wav file to give you a machine gun feeling (from you experience) @=Andre=

How can I know this? I am a civilian and have never shot anything more serious than an air rifle in my life.

why not just go with the caliber of the weapon you're shooting? you'd be looking at between 1000-3000hz. the faster the round, the louder the snap while the bigger round will have a bigger kick.

I'm afraid 1000-3000hz is way to high for any bass-shaker. Their operating range is 20 - 100 Hz.

well, thats in real life audio. Im not really sure how pc speakers pollute the audio, but you will never get those kinds of frequencies on PC anyways since it overpowers the mics. what you get from that isnt 1000-3000hz at all.

heres a good threat to start working from. aint much, but I can keep looking because Im now interested in this as well. I miss @zzzspace, this was his forte.

anyways, you  dont want the sound, you want the kick.

Just looking for the best vibration. A wav file that just gives alot of vibration which feels like tat tat tat tat tat. , not necessarily sounding like a real gun..

I know it's not going to kick like a real gun

The default gun wav was not alot of vibration, seem more like a door buzz..
