Is the server actually in Israel?

It's definitely on the other side of the world. I thought more like France (but I don't honestly know.)

It's one of the rare servers for me to have a 100ms ping to. Gigabit internet is epic. 4ms ping to the 104th. :)

The "normal" BF server is hosted in Scandinavia (thought it was Sweden, RIPE says registered in Norway. Can be either).

DCS Israel in Germany.

"other side of world", "100ms" hahaha. haha. haa. er... :(

The lowest my ping as ever been to BF is about 180ms, 104th? 320ms. US servers are right out for me in general.

Also Blue Flag is hosted in Germany according to: https://www.iplocation.net

Just a heads up... I dont think gigabit internet is going to do anything for your ping. It's all about the route and not the amount of bandwidth.

Side note... Your not from Kansas City are you? That ping, if your telling the truth, would mean you should be in the KC area since that is where there server is unless they moved it recently.

It's the quality of the connection. Only google offers gigabit currently. That connection is high quality straight to a backbone, which in turn means less hops (hence lower ping.) I get sub 7ms pings to most of the US. Alaska and Hawaii are different. You can tell when a server is over the ocean... your ping drastically jumps from 5-7 to 100ish ms.

I am in KC, I work right up the road from where you live. :)

Google certainly is not the only one with gigabit in KC. In Olathe I had gigabit through Consolidated for 50 a month and ping was 2ms. Everyone has had to change their offerings since Google came to town. It all depends on where you live. Unfortunately, best I can get since I moved to Gardner is 100mb. Now my ping is 20ms since my route is worse to downtown.

But, I guess we should move back on topic. I hope an update comes out today!

So asking if rolling back to 1.5.6 is off limits? I noticed my post was deleted but no reference or PM.

This seems like a legit question. With the performance issues of 1.5.7 I'd be up for discussing it.

I guess the BF team isn't? Or is it being modded by forum admins?

Yes, mods deleted our posts regarding the possibility of rolling back the server.

Buddyspike team are not forum administrators, we have no control over moderation.

No plans to roll back, we're going to wait for the next patch. Discussion of 1.5.7 in general is probably best in a different forum post :)

We also have BlueFlag Normandy running on the DCS Israel server thanks to Xcom if you want a different BlueFlag . :)

Simple jokes / memes trying to make some light of the current situation are getting deleted too?

I do not have normandy nor do I have any WW2 stuff nor do I plan on getting on the WW2 train. So BF Caucasus is my only fix.

The lack of humour disturbs me.

FYI there is another server (DC) that did have to roll back to 1.5.6 due to lag (they work with many units). So it seems it's not an absolutely crazy idea.

(I don't personally care either way, but 1.5.7 is developing a pattern there I noticed)

I don't like this Normandy map, sorry. I brought Nevada but played 5 times because its to boring and too monochromatic map. I like playing WW2 fighters but on IL2, BoS and other pure WW2 platforms that can host thousand of online players for less hardware demanding requests than DSC. This WW2 switching is out of my Jet Age concept that DCS has offered successfully filling that gap that has been open for a while. Closing BF could switch some players on WW2 but for me I'm on hold short for another BF round.

I get your point! It's confusing for someone who's new, you're right. Most Red players stick in the "red" channel and same thing with the Blues.

What about a Korea blue flag? I think there would be more people flying that than DCS WW2

Yeah the channels need to be updated and they will.

Also working on it, we will announce later on.

I guess ED intentionally killed 1.5 multiplayer. See you guys around.

I wish we could just roll the server back. Seems like a relatively easy fix.

I hope this isn't "the end" for Blue Flag.
