Excellent - For perfection move the flag from the Foremast to the Yard, they only fly flags from the Foremast and Quarterdeck in harbour or entering/leaving harbour.

 

The flag on the yard would be the Russian Naval Ensign. (St Andrews - White Blue Cross)

I must be missing something...St Andrews cross is navy with white stripes!?

 

We were trying out the flag, not sure if we will animate it properly yet.

 

So apparently....trhe Scottish flag is derived from St Andrew's cross, not the other way around....Learn something new every day!

The Russian navy ensign("everyday" flag) is the "Andreevskiy"(see attachment) and, as crazyeddie said, mostly flown from the foremast.

 

The flag in your rendering is only used for special "festive" events(such as port visits).

You woudlnt believe how hard it can be to find some details, but the internet never ceases to amaze me, and finding it on a gaming website was the best part. Good old World of Warships!

Appreciate all the detail you guys have inputted, and we are duty bound to honour those details since we openly made this attempt to rebuild her on the forums.

 

There will be sacrifices of detail, you will see them. Having already bombed and sunk them in the game I can hand on heart say the only way to see them really is to be on board, the level of zoom currently doesn't support some detail.

 

The poly count doesn't affect my frame rates, I've already built a realistic sized armada and it doesn't blink of my frame limit which is somewhere around 75 FPS. And that is without LODS.

 

Collision model and damage tested....it sinks, 1 bomb or a full load of rockets and guns. She fires Grails, if you are able to be silly enough to hang around.

Modelling update:

 

Thanks to Pikey who provided me with some images of the gun, I have finished modelling the gun and tested in game and it looks really nice, just need to apply some texturing and of course the dreaded UV Unwrapping lol

Landed the Gazelle on it no issues. Not really sure how to make it so you can start off any fly from the ship though. Any thoughts anyone?

 

I did find in another mod

I believe the helipad was only a holiday distraction, there's some vital parts to the visual element I desperately want to complete as it's so close. Lights has become a bone of contention as i'm not sure some of the details we have are directly impacting the intended use of the mod in the sim which is as a key part of a Russian amphibuous invasion force. We are going to realign today to see if we can complete the last hurdles for release before LNS gets the Viggen out of the hangar.

It's defined as an armed ship. I was only interested in this for possible future helicopter equipped ships or carriers, not sprinting that way right now, need to get Saratov launched sooner!
