For me it seems like the R3S is currently outperforming the modernized versions in every regard.

The range is bigger, the seeker is more sensitive

and the maneuverability is much better.

 

Has anybody else noticed this?

Yes i noticed something very wrong with r13m1 in MP:- launch against non manouering F5e at 1km range results in many misses! How is this possible?

Well im not sure if the R-13M and R-13M1 are worse then they should be.

 

Or if its simply that the R-3S is over performing to a significant degree,

or a mix of the two.

 

Since i feel the R-3S is very much better then it should be

 

(It should be comparable to the Aim-9B

where as in its current game-state its more comparable to the Aim-9P

where as the Aim-9P should be significantly better then the R-3S in every way)

R60M not working in MP either, unable to aquire any lock whatsoever.

 

Can tell you that R-60MK is good, Cubans in Angola shot down one C-130 and damaged another, and was badly damaged a Mirage F1, all with R-60M

Yes, the R60M on Mig21 is in a very bad state currently. I hardly can aquire F5s with it even when i m on their 6 and close.

 

Unfortunately, LNS doesnt seem to care about the Mig anymore and arent fixing it. I understand they put full focus on the Viggen but so do other Devs and still support their current modules... Belsimtek and ED are good examples.

Don't know about MP but I noticed while on quick missions that sometimes I have problems with my view at pitching up movements, it reaches an unconfortable stop point just below the mirror while it shoudn't, this is not constant but from little notice when this occur my r-60 wont lock, then I reset the game and coming back my view has normal ceiling again and r-60 works..have no clue how this can be connected, will report when more incidents like this happen.

This was reported in the pre-match briefing of the Grudgematch and is currently being fixed.

 

EDIT: Just to clarify; the bug noted was that depending on the sortie, respawn state, etc.-- sometimes the missiles won't lock, while sometimes they do.

 

 

If there is anything extra to add to that report, it would be helpful to add it to our mantis!

Nothing to add. These are also my observations. I hope it will be fixed soon.

What is wrong with the missiles atm. Let alone that R3R is not able to track correctly head on targets, the missiles don't accelerate to their top speed. the faster I saw any missile go is 1.7 mach and that is like for a few milliseconds they also seem to have too much drag after some seconds. Anyone can explain?

 

EDIT: Looking from many other sources I see that that is the correct speed, possible lock distacne and abilities in general are correct but still the missiles seem to loose energy way to fast.

The only thing I've managed to hit with the R-3R in the last 4 months is a B-52 from dead astern. I've tried it out against all kinds of AI fighters from different aspects, and you're lucky if the R-3R gets within 500m of the target.
