exray Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 (edited) There are no release dates on either, so you dont know when anything is coming, 2.5 could drop before Normandy... we just dont know yet. Normandy team and the 2.5 team are not the same. Did the Christmas news release not say that Normandy had to come first before the Caucasus update?? Edit no it was the 2.5 delay announcement: "We have determined that the DCS World 2.5 update will not be available in 2016 as we had earlier hoped. This is mainly due to additional work needing to be done of the Caucasus map update, and we don’t feel it can be accomplished within the next two months at a high level of quality. Before we can complete this map update, we first need to finalize and release both the Nevada map update and the Normandy map. Those, along with the Spitfire, are now our highest priorities. Once the Nevada update and the Normandy map tasks are complete, our map team can return to the Caucuses map and move the 2.5 closer to an Open Beta release." rrohde Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 Regardless, it's so worth the wait. If NTTR is an example of good optimization (buttery smooth), I cannot wait for the Caucasus 2.5 version and its improvements towards performance. I believe that the Normandy map will be equally well optimized for 2.5 from the get-go. IronJockel Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 Tons of Manuals and Technical -Data about german Radar / Funk-mess devices including the Freya and Würzburg Stations. Very interesting read. http://www.cdvandt.org/manuals.htm Is there any info about WW2 radar stations for the Normandy map? The Dora and Kurfürst are having Fug25 IFF devices, like every Luftwaffe aircraft since 41, and they need a Funk-mess to to operate. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

So far i remember the FUG25 are not implemented and not operational in DCS, think they Operating on a Frequency they would be reconized by Ground Operation Radar Station (Funk-mess) to not get blasted out of the Sky by Anti Aircraft Defence. After the AI never have blue on blue accidents so far would be questionable for what FUG25 is needed currently. For Normandy functional Würzburg and Freya Radar Systems would be nice thing for more dynamic Mission with Interception like current CGI and Radar counter operation. Also Radio Operations in the most "Simulation" lacking far behind the real WW2 World, possible Ground Station can take the Bearing from your Radio call (old-IL2) with more Radio Bearings you can estimate your Position on a Map. Far more old school but intressting. Edited January 16, 2017 by MAD-MM Once you have tasted Flight, you will forever walk the Earth with your Eyes turned Skyward. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 9./JG27

My idea to use this in missions on mp servers is that we have a view on the map similar to this : http://aircombatgroup.co.uk/radar/radar.php and that the correct use of the Fug25 has a impact on this view.
