WindyTX Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 I did try the the hard Cam 1st but for formation I would have had to fly out of trim to stay out of the center notch. Then I took it apart Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk I7 3930 4.2GHz ( Hyperthreading Off), GTX1080, 16 GB ddr3 Hotas Warthog Saiteck Combat Pedals HTC Vive, Oculus CV1. GTX 1080 Has its uses
Euccy Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Yea I got it all done I am using the soft center 3 dot Cams and the medium springs. I have a 30 cm extension on it and it centers great with the Virpil stick top. After couple of hours using it I am very happy it took me a couple of hours to sort through the Cam swap but it is all set up now. The sensors are excellent I see the in game stick reflect every tiny movement ( way better than my 5 year old Warthog ). There is zero sticktion and formation flying is a joy. I have recommended they send them out with the soft center cam to save the Cam change Pain which I think the majority of us would prefer, tho it would be interesting to hear from someone with a Warthog stick top on it as the extra weight does make a difference. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk Thanks for posting your experience with changing over the cams. It would be nice to be able to state your preferred cam/spring combination when ordering the stick. I would like to receive my Mongoos T-50 flight stick with the soft centre cams already installed to save the hassle of changing them over. As I have yet to receive a shipping notice I have put in this request. Hopefully they will be able to accommodate me...

fritzchris Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Hi @Cyph3r: Can you please post the measurements for the U-Bracket on the T50 Base. So i can make an adapter to mount the Base on my Deskmount. Thanks
Vullcan Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 The u bracket makes mounting fairly complicated... no way to mount this from the bottom of the base using 4 screws?

Of course you could replace the U-Bracket entirely and mount to where the U-Bracket mounts to. That sounds good to me! Can you provide a drawing that would help to prepare that solution? I have the Monstertech table mounts and want to continue using those. If you look on the diagram I posted of the U-Bracket, the narrower section with the 4 screw holes is the dimensions to mount to the rear side of the base (thus replacing the U-bracket) ► Website: www.virpil.com // ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/VirPilControls // ► Twitter: https://twitter.com/VirPilControls For support please email support@virpil.com to open a ticket! I had asked them about this earlier. Yes I know, but they need to have a T-50 before they will finalize design and make it (so they told me) LeCuvier Windows 10 Pro 64Bit | i7-4790 CPU |16 GB RAM|SSD System Disk|SSD Gaming Disk| MSI GTX-1080 Gaming 8 GB| Acer XB270HU | TM Warthog HOTAS | VKB Gladiator Pro | MongoosT-50 | MFG Crosswind Pedals | TrackIR 5
insanedruid Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Hi Cyph3r, when I try to change the spring I find that one of the spring loading screw(roll axis) is off center and the white plastic is rubbing the inner side of the tube. This makes it hard to adjust from through the hole in the top plate and increases the friction. Is there a fix to that?
dburne Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Yes I know, but they need to have a T-50 before they will finalize design and make it (so they told me) Yeah, they told me they had one on pre-order, so maybe won't be too much longer now. insanedruid Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 (edited) I think I have come to conclusion that all the extra cams I got are deflective. Since I am only able to remove the roll cam. I replaced the hard one with the soft one and found that the movement is not smooth when I move the stick to the right edge. After I inspected the cam I thought it's because of the surface of the cam so I reverse the cam and the left edge of the stick is not smooth now... And then I compare those cam with the hard cam I found that the contacting surface of the hard cams had been smoothed and it's color is silvery metal color while all the other cams are with black coating. edit: add photos http://imgur.com/tuZ5xCR http://imgur.com/3a52Unv And here is the whole t50 album http://imgur.com/a/tNZdz Edited August 14, 2017 by insanedruid

Ah, I'm sorry yours have arrived not perfectly smooth, can I propose (for the time being) you polish the surface with something like 800-1200 grit wet and dry, and we'll ship another set of cams out to you ASAP! Please email sale@virpil.com referencing this with your order number and we'll sort it out immediately! We'll also look into why these cams were not up to the standard they should have been and I urge anyone who has a similar sort of issue with their cams to email me at sale@virpil.com! insanedruid Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Anyone swapped the cams yet. I have my Roll cam swapped but the Pitch Cam will not come out and I have tried pretty forcefully worried about breaking the whole dam thing. Ok its a pain in the Arse but to do it take a small torx put it in the screw hole be careful not to get into the threads of the mount and then lever the thing out against the Cam Gymbal mount. Also watch the logic board it has spacer washer and nut between it and the side to stop it getting bent when you tighten it. took me 2 hours to work through it all still it works. Cheers Windy I got mine last night and was unable to remove the pitch cam... I guess I will have to try it again tonight.
WindyTX Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 (edited) At your own risk be careful not to get into the threads. Another poster rocked it from side to side to get it loose but mine would not, move this was my last resort. Also when you put the new one into position make sure it is nicely lined up so you dont cross thread the small screws putting them in. Hope this is helpful.
