Hi Folks!

 

You spawn at a helicopter base somewhere in Vietnam, then, like in the first version you can choose what you want to do. The map is full of trigger zones, missions and easter eggs. This time there is a briefing map to help you.

Take off from FARP Dallas, a base somewhere in Vietnam either with a slick or a gunship configuration, then carry out missions of your choice:

 

Slick:

- LZ Lolo has turned hot as a pepper dipped into napalm. Fly there and rescue the LRP team taking heavy fire, or bring in reinforcements.

- Rescue the crew of a crashed Huey just accross the Laotian border. Hurry, Charlie also homed in on the ELT beacon!

- Our troops have recently taken Hill 245 close to Samtskaro. Bring in 3 small FOB crates in order to build a FOB base. They popped green smoke and are transmitting a beacon. Watch out, Charlie is still hiding in the bushes.

- Fly reinforcements to Hill 35.

- Resupply the base with a sling load from Khashuri

- Resupply the base with cargo from the Khasuri Supply Base (red smoke)

- Our troops got heavily engaged up North. Follow their beacon and evacuate the wounded.

 

Gunship:

- Attack a truck convoy heading North from Nabakevi

- Attack an armed truck convoy reported 15 miles to the North West

- Provide close air support to the attack on Hill 35

- Provide close air support in LZ Lolo

 

FARP Dallas: FM 40.00

FOB team: FM 41.00

Crashed Huey ELT: FM 40.30

LZ Lolo: FM 40.20

Medevac 1: FM 40.30

Medevac 2: FM 40.40

Medevac 3: FM 40.50

Medevac 4: FM 40.60

Medevac 5: FM 40.70

 

 

If you enter the area of each mission, several units will spawn, battles will begin, and you will hear some authentic, original Vietnam war radio chatter to add to the immersion.

- FM beacons added to guide you to the crashed Huey crew as well as the LRP team

- FARP zone populated for more immersion

- CTLD funcionality added. Now you can carry troops and cargo.

- New mission added: building a FOB base

- Unique Morse codes added to each beacon

- Dawn and rainy versions added

 

HOTFIX 20/2/2017

- 3 Medevac missions added along with some easter eggs.

 

HOTFIX 31/1/2018

- Updated for 2.5, 2 more Medevac missions added as well as an AFV radio

Sorry to say it mate. but when I try to fly this mission it crashes DCS.

I have attached the log file in case it helps.

Hi,

 

I'm sorry to hear that. I downloaded your log file, but it uses long error codes and I have no idea what those mean. Maybe someone from ED could decipher them?

 

I can only guess that it's due to the large size of the mission. All 3 give the same result? Anyone else experiencing crashes?

I did a quick run on all 3 versions, didn't have any problems and all seemed to work OK.

Seems to be related to this:

00056.498 ERROR DCS: Your 11th tag is wrong, please write: REFERENCE LENGTHS or number of line in this table is wrong 0?0Ń

 

Problem is, it does not reference which table, or script, or anything useful...

Does the mission require any user mod (upuauts cargo mod maybe?)

@Soupdragon - any mods installed, or clean DCS? If it is a clean release version, check you have the latest update and maybe try a repair.

No, no mods at all. It even uses stock skins.

I do run quite a few mods, but all other camapigns and missons seem to run fine.

I will re-download the mission in case my version is corrupted in some way as it seems to be working for lots of other folks.

I'll report back later and let you know.

This may seem like a shot in the dark. Setting your Pagefile to system managed has helped withUser created mission crashes. Lots of units on map overloads it.

Awesome playground reflected.......I just love it....simple yet immersive. Saved a Mi8 version as well as Mi8 is THE BEST DCS module so far IMHO. Thanx buddy......some rep on its way!

Looks like it was a mod causing the dcs crashes. But funilly enough it was Upaults Helipads, Cargos and race gates mod.

Just downloaded and played it last night. WHAT A MISSION! I loved it.

 

Although I tried to start building the FOB, but was unable to lift the 1st cargo. I guess I need to reduce my A/C weight a lot more to get that container off the ground?

To build the FOB you need to land at the FARP or at the Supply base, spawn a "small Fob crate" then hit F10 - F4 - F? - load nearby crate to load it. You unload it by F10 - F4 - F? drop crate

Then when all 3 crates are one next to the other you hit F10 - F4 - F? - unpack nearby crate, and the base will be built in 30 seconds.

I see on the download page that it has yesterday's date showing but when I downloaded the file last night and this morning the zipped up missions' dates are all 1/7/17, thus making me think this is not the latest version. Just did as you said, tuned the FM radio to 40.45, and there was only dead silence. So maybe it is the old missions are still there instead of your latest one.

Just downloaded them again and they still have the same modified date of 1/7/2017 and file size as the previous version. Double checked with the FM radio again to make sure, no change I'm afraid.

 

EDIT: Just downloaded again in case it took time for your new files to be "approved" or something but they are still the same.
