hoochiekoo
In the mission editor I found SEAD task but when come to payload option there is no preload weapon in the loadout editor. How can Viggen do SEAD task just like Su-25T use Elint pod or it has another procedure to SEAD.

I don't know why SEAD is available as a mission type for the Viggen in DCS, as it has no SEAD specific armament. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing! probad
leatherneck chooses to allow all roles/skins/nations to be freely combined, so don't read too hard into it.
mattebubben
It does not have dedicated Sead weapons. But its speed and agility will allow it to get close to Sams while flying at low altitude allows it do complete a SEAD/DEAD type mission. With a few different weapons beeing suited for the task. I would probably say Mavericks,BK90s Rocketpods and High Drag bombs in CCIP mode would be the best options for the SEAD/DEAD type mission. With the BK90 and High drag bombs having you fly 10-20 meters above ground to avoid enemy fire untill you get into range of the target. Where as the Mavericks and rockets would require a pop up attack which would be more vulnerable to interruption (as one might be forced abort the attack run if launched at) Though the Maverick with its FF capability would allow some stand off (and it would be more flexible then the BK 90). Personally i like using the High drag bombs and ive killed a few SA-15s by flying in at 10-20 meters at high speed and dropping in CCIP mode. ^^ But no the Viggen is not a Sead aircraft and does not have Sead weapons though it can take out enemy airdefences if needed (and its speed and agility lets it do so well enough). SnorreSelmer
Actually, you can do a limited SEAD as a jamming escort. You're not actively shooting at SAM sites, but you can obstruct their capability to get a lock on the flight. WinterH
Among the default payloads for "ground attack" mission, there seems to beva "SEAD" one with jammer, countermeasures, and couple of RB75T (heavy warhead maverick). I personally wouldn't dare with that one though. My picks would be: if SAM site is a known position, Mjölnirs, or may be the rockets as they have surprisingly decent range. Fiddling with mavericks would get me killed :D. Johnny Dioxin
Spot on Fri13! Don't forget that SEAD does not have to mean SAMs, nor a dedicated SEAD role aircraft or payload. Exactly, suppression doesn't necessarily imply weapons employment. :-)
