Paveway333 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Hi, recently after a computer restart my DCS performance has degraded significantly, one thing I noticed ingame was the built in FPS indicator has turned red instead of yellow... Any ideas? Repaired DCS without any luck. i7 4790k, GTX 1080, 16gb ram, ssd
razo+r Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 that's a new "feature" maybe you can change that in a .lua file, but i don't know
Paveway333 Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 Ok, well is the "new" FPS indicator always red, or does it turn red when something is wrong? Going from Open Beta to Stable and back again to see if it fixes the problem
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted February 3, 2017 ED Team Posted February 3, 2017 The FPS indicator is RED now, it does not change. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Art-J Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 I wonder what the idea behind changing the colour was, because it seems whoever came up with it, wanted to make the info more difficult to read :D. Instead of increasing the letter-background contrast, as the simple logics would indicate, first they lowered it in fast mission editor menu, now did the same for the fps and diag tool. As if the info wasn't difficult to read enough already, with the dreaded tiny font on high-rez screens! i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted February 3, 2017 ED Team Posted February 3, 2017 With red I find it easier to read, the yellow against bright backgrounds made it difficult for me. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Art-J Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Well, they could at least make it more vibrant, saturated red, instead of this half-pinky-half-violet-whatever, faded something. Would be better against both lighter and darker backgrounds I presume. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

DieHard Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 (edited) I use this instead: http://www.fraps.com/faq.php Mine is yellow. Use F12 to move it around the monitor's 4 corners in DCS. I am red / green colorblind. Edited February 7, 2017 by DieHard [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
