SubVision Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Why GBU-12 can be loaded only on 3,5 and 7 pylon? Mk-82 have the same holder and can be carried on 2, 4, 6 and 8 too.
zaelu Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Maybe is not just the holder? Weight? WCS wiring/capability, etc... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
Azrayen Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 Indeed CoG issues. + gear vs rear bombs interaction (not the same size as an 82!) (I'm talking aerodynamics) + wiring probably not made due to previous reasons. + separation tests (launch tests) not made or not positively validated (idem).
SubVision Posted February 12, 2017 Author Posted February 12, 2017 I see that gbu's on 4 and 8 collapse with gears But 2xgbu on 2 and 8 are perfectly in
Azrayen Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Mecanically speaking, dual launcher on wings pylons are OK. I'm not sure all the wiring is there (different for 12s than for 82s?)? And I never saw this on a real aircraft: where would you put the fuel? Most "bomb truck" M-2000s fly with the 541/542 2000 liters fuel tanks.
SubVision Posted February 13, 2017 Author Posted February 13, 2017 Mk-82 has same launcher as GBU-12, it takes no info from plane. Code is being set on the ground. Fuel tank can be put on 5 pylon. I think it should have possibility to load GBU's there

While I agree I never saw it on the real aircraft, carrying 2-4 more bombs on the wings would free up the centerline for fuel. ZHeN Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 I'd rather carry 6 GBU's and a ventral fuel tank indeed [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
jojo Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 The current load is conform to what is known of the real aircraft. It's an air defense fighter, not a F-15E... Mirage fanatic ! lemoen Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 I'd rather have a TGP and 4x GBU than 6x GBU and a fuel tank, but hey, the 2000C can't. Sigh...

lemoen Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Nah we're just commenting on how we would have liked these other features on the M2000C. Or rather, that's what I'm doing anyway.
amalahama Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Is this a wishlist thread now ? It's a real M2000C wishlist actually , so I guess they should write on Dassault's forums instead. Regards
jojo Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 We have been there already. What some people are requesting isn't a Mirage 2000C RDI. Mirage 2000C RDI is a Fox 1 air defense fighter with secondary AG capacities, not F/A-18 Hornet. There is no point requesting more weapon that what is planned by Razbam now. Or it isn't Mirage 2000C RDI anymore. Mirage fanatic ! I7-7700K/ MSI RTX3080/ RAM 64 Go/ SSD / TM Hornet stick-Virpil WarBRD + Virpil CM3 Throttle + MFG Crosswind + Reverb G2. Paradox Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 I was told that the GBU-12 requires a wire connected to the bomb from the pylon to extend the wings when it drops from the aircraft Only the front 4 pylons support that on the Mirage 2000C

SubVision Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 It's the same wire, which arms bomb fuse
SubVision Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 Because when bomb is being dropped, nose and tail fuse are arming. GBU-12 aim system works with nose fuse
mvsgas Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 (edited) I was told that the GBU-12 requires a wire connected to the bomb from the pylon to extend the wings when it drops from the aircraft Only the front 4 pylons support that on the Mirage 2000C It's the same wire, which arms bomb fuse how do you know that? Because when bomb is being dropped, nose and tail fuse are arming. GBU-12 aim system works with nose fuse This is from a USAF F-16: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2901387&postcount=13 There is no special wiring like those found for WCMD or GPS guided weapons. Like RECORDER_RUS posted, is the same as arming wire/cable and depending on the configuration, it might be connected to the Fuzzing hook, so the pilot can select NO/tail fusing or might be hard wire to the pylon, when the bomb drops it is armed in a specific way no matter the cockpit selection. Edited February 15, 2017 by mvsgas To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
Britchot Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 This just makes me want to file a wishlist for the Mirage 2000D. The C is great for what she was designed for.
