For several months, our aircraft (it doesn't seem to matter which mod .. has affected me in the F5E, Huey, Gazelle, Mustang), are being pushed "towards the wind" instead of away from or with the wind. The wind sail/tail on the windshield of the Gazelle (for example) clearly shows the wind blowing FROM the left, and yet we get pushed TO the left ! When on a runway, and relying on Smoke Stacks (since there are no Wind Socks at airports ?), as well as the Mission Report for wind direction, the aircraft respond opposite to that which they ought to respond. Surely this is something that can be quickly and easily resolved ? !! Please fix it asap. I've just tested 1.5.6 singleplayer (P-51 crosswing takeoff and landing missions, 'cause I don't own the other aircraft You mention) and the plane behaved as it should - weathervaning into the wind and being pushed with it at the same time. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

You can place the windsocks in the mission editor. And remember the briefing shows the direction the wind is blowing to, not from.

If blowing from left to right, one would expect to compensate using Left Rudder .... but nope ... it doesn't work like that in at least 2 servers I have frequented (F5E in one and Huey in the other). Your earlier statement indicated that, in your opinion, if the wind was coming from the left, you should need left rudder to compensate. Using rudder to the right was incorrect. In the sim, I still need to use right rudder in that situation...which is what should be needed. In a cross wind, your nose will try to turn into the wind. Rudder away from the wind is used to compensate. At the same time, the wind is attempting to push you downwind. You use aileron into the wind to compensate for that effect. JG14_Smil Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 Wind moves the vertical stabilizer the most when at slow speed. Wind from left, right rudder to stay straight, bank left to line up. But.. don't over do it. Wait until the last second before touch-down. Crab your way in.

Here's a quick test I did wiith the Mi8: Left: 15kts wind @90°, right: 0kts wind (the windsock has apparently reverted to some default state). Look at the control indicator and how much i have to lean into the wind in the left shot. This is fully trimmed out in a stationary IGE hover :
